Kathmandu Durbar Square, once the royal palace of the Malla kings and later the Shah dynasty, dates back to the 12th century. This historical complex served as the seat of power and witnessed coronations and state ceremonies. The square features exquisite Newari architecture, with intricately carved wooden windows, pagoda-style temples, and iconic structures like Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar (Home of the Living Goddess), and Taleju Temple. Visitors can immerse themselves in centuries of art, politics, and culture.
Swayambhunath Stupa is believed to have been founded over 2,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal. According to legend, the stupa emerged spontaneously from a lotus flower in a primordial lake that once covered the Kathmandu Valley. This sacred Buddhist site features a gleaming white dome, gilded spire, and all-seeing eyes of Buddha. Surrounded by smaller shrines and inhabited by playful monkeys, it offers spiritual calm and panoramic views of the valley.
Pashupatinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, dates back to 400 A.D., making it one of the oldest and most sacred Hindu temples in the world. It was rebuilt by King Bhupatindra Malla in the 17th century after earlier structures were destroyed. Situated along the Bagmati River, it is a site of daily rituals, cremation ceremonies, and religious festivals like Maha Shivaratri. Though non-Hindus cannot enter the main sanctum, the surrounding shrines and ghats offer a deep cultural and spiritual experience.
Boudhanath Stupa was built in the 5th century after the Mughal invasions, becoming a center for Tibetan Buddhism after refugees fled to Nepal. It is one of the largest stupas in the world and a key pilgrimage site. The stupa’s massive mandala base, topped by a white dome and golden spire with Buddha’s watchful eyes, draws monks and devotees for daily kora. Surrounded by monasteries and Tibetan shops, Boudhanath radiates peace, spirituality, and vibrant cultural life.

Nothing is ever too hard for Shree. Always above and beyond. Incredible experiences with incredible people . We will come back again for their service
We were always taken care of in every situation, Shree always at hand to sort everything out, even manifesting a brilliant birthday cake for my 60th birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉
Shree and his team are excellent, they provide security and in-depth local knowledge. They are excellent at managing timings with respect to 'Nepali time' and visitors wanting to get the most out of their experience. I always felt safe and that I was seeing the most significant things.
Once again a great experience. Shreeram knows all corners of the city, can say something about all areas and has thus completely delighted my whole family again. I'm glad he's allowed us to get to know this great country so deeply
Absolutely recommend, Shree and team were super helpful and knowledgeable. This was my first big trip overseas and they made what would have been an overwhelming trip an easy and fun experience. I completely recommend having Epic Adventures guide you when in Nepal.
Had such a great experience with epic adventures. From watching the sunrise over the Himalayas to touring through the jungle in Chitwan in an open jeep and exploring through Nepalese villages. The tour guides Shree, Sam and Anil were so kind and always making sure everyone was there (as we had a large group) and having fun! Would highly recommend choosing epic adventures if you are looking to explore Nepal.
Our female guide Saru was excellent! She knew a lot about the city and was very friendly and compassionate!
From village to city, mountains to roads, serenity to excitement and calmness to adventure....we experienced everything and Epic adventures made it possible for us. Each of our journey went smooth and safe. We didn’t' face any trouble. All I have from Nepal tour, are good memories. Definitely recommended.
The food tour was great! If you are a food lover, this is a great opportunity to enrich your Nepal experience. Our guide was nice, friendly, he took us to super authentic places where it is difficult for a tourist to find his way on his own. Everything we tasted was excellent (Samosa, Yomari, Bara, etc.) He even complied with our request that everything be vegetarian. I really recommend it!
We do trip with Epic Adventures Nepal. I like very much . Next when i came i will go with them again. Very good guide and photography i like highly recommend
