I had a wonderful experience booking my Bhutan trip through Madam Kinley. From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive, answering all my questions quickly and clearly. Once all the details were finalized, she took care of everything, from the visa process to hotel bookings, which gave me complete peace of mind before my trip. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find the tour guide already waiting at the airport entrance with a sign bearing my name, a great start to the journey! Since there were allot of tour guides, look out to your name. Everything went smoothly from there. Despite having only a short time in Bhutan, the tour was well-organized and efficient, allowing me to see and experience a lot. A special thanks to the tour guide, who was knowledgeable, providing insightful explanations at every stop. If I have to give feedback, maybe more engaging with customer. Be prepared to learn a lot about Buddhism, particularly Tibetan Buddhism, it adds a meaningful depth to the entire experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Bhutan with reliable and professional support.
I rarely provide written reviews, however this trip and Thunphel travels certainly deserves one. Like many, I had high expectations for Bhutan and can firmly say Bhutan is an excellent country to visit, however the Thunphel team elevated the experience and made it exceptional. Overall the trip exceeded expectations. Firstly, Kinley's management and expertise made booking the whole trip (visas, itinerary, hotels, etc.) stress free. To add to this, unlike most tour agents I've dealt with in various other countries I've visited, Kinley tailored the itinerary to suit individual preferences & requests. This played a key part in the quality of the overall personal experience whilst exploring Bhutan. On arrival to Paro, you're greeted with Bhutanese hospitality - which is some of the best I've encountered. In addition to this, Yeshi (guide) & Jamba (driver) went above & beyond to ensure the trip was leisurely and enjoyable. The locations visited within the itinerary were picturesque, Bhutan's nature in peak season is scenic to say the least. The food was fresh and in most cases grown nearby, and the level of service in hotels and restaurants was excellent. This along with the rich history & culture observed has put Bhutan in my personal top 3 countries I've visited. The combination of Kinley's expertise as an agent, Yeshi's vast knowledge as a guide, and Jamba's professionalism as a driver, made for a knowledgeable, safe and exceptional trip. Overall, without a doubt the trip was worth every penny. The only regret would be that I hadn't booked a longer stay, I'd advise a minimum of 10 days in order to visit more regions within Bhutan. However, even within the week's stay, the Thunphel team made visiting Bhutan a memorable & fulfilling experience. Looking forward to visiting Eastern Bhutan on a future visit and booking with Thunphel travels again. Tip: If flying via Kathmandu, take left window seats (ideally at the front) heading to Paro. Right window seats when returning to Kathmandu for a view of the Himalayas.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt and detailed review, it truly means the world to us. We're honored to have been part of your journey through Bhutan and thrilled to hear that your experience exceeded expectations. Your kind words about Kinley's personalized approach to planning, as well as the efforts of Yeshi and Jamba, will be shared with the team, they will be overjoyed to know they helped make your visit memorable, comfortable, and enriching. We always strive to ensure our guests not only enjoy Bhutan’s beauty, but also feel its warmth and hospitality, and your feedback reinforces why we do what we do. We're especially grateful that you highlighted the value of a longer stay, we couldn’t agree more! Bhutan has so many unique regions and hidden gems, and we would be delighted to help you explore Eastern Bhutan on your next visit. Thank you once again for your recommendation and thoughtful travel tip, it's sure to help future travelers. Looking forward to welcoming you back to Bhutan soon! Warm regards, Team Thunphel Travels
My parents who are older were well taken care of by Kinley and Dorji. They had a great time and my mom had a very memorable birthday trip. Everything was well organized and smooth. Highly recommend.
Bhutan Bound - Do yourself a favour and contact Thunphel Bhutan Travel as your first point of call. Bhutan Bound and you want a most reliable, efficient and informed agent, with outstanding communication skills who addresses your every need then it would be very much in your interest to seek out Kinley Wangmo of Thunphel Butan Travel (www.thunpeltours.com). Pre trip planning was made so easier through Kinley's clear understanding of our needs and her wonderful accurate feedback ensured that we were to undertake what was a most memorable few days Glimpse of Bhutan with great confidence and assurance that all that was planned would actually happen. Such was the attention to detail that on the day prior to the commencement of our trip our assigned guide Thinley met us at our hotel at Jaigaon on the Indian border to inform us that next day he would meet us at immigration and take us through the process of entry into Bhutan. Such made ease of entry totally non stressful - a very good start. Thinley was an extremely knowledgeable guide who had his client's interest at heart. He understood his client's interests and needs being well organized, punctual - if Thinley said we are leaving at 7 am we left at 7 am, in other words ensuring that valuable time was not lost sitting in hotel foyers - and most flexible as we did on occasions customise our tour at very short notice. Our very friendly and concerned for our safety driver, Tenzing, provided a very safe environment in a very well-maintained vehicle as we moved though our day's activities. During our tour Kinley even made a special effort to meet us and provided morning tea for us - a gesture that was really appreciated and didn't go unnoticed. Thank you Kinley. Accommodation provided by our tour was superb and all factors relating to such were aptly handled by our guide. All meals - breakfast, lunch dinner were included in the very competitive tour price and were fantastic as we were able to experience a range of cuisines which adds to the experience. A word on Bhutan - it is a magnificent kingdom with a rich unique history and culture which is reflected in the populations Proud to be Bhutanese demeanor. Specifically with its dramatic landscapes, unmatched scenery, beautifully maintained buildings with their unique Bhutan architecture - windows, cleanliness of rural and urban areas Bhutan has so much to offer. I wish to thank Kinley for her outstanding planning and organization as such ensured a most memorable few days for us. Her input, support, help and flexibility were greatly appreciated. Lastly, I'd like to thank the comments made by previous reviewers of Thunphel Bhutan Travel because it was they who made me fully aware of the outstanding service provided by Kinley and her husband and as a consequence we also contacted her and are so pleased that we did. Thank you Kinley. We wish you the very best - you deserve it. Peter and Merlinda Miles Philippines
I did the four day program. was very special. So special that I wanted to stay a few more days. The service, care and professionalism were above and beyond. I would especially mention the driver Bo and the guide Choki
Sonam, my guide was excellent. So kind and considerate. Perfect travel experience. Car and driver were first rate. Kinley was very flexible.
We had a great experience in Bhutan, after arranging our travels with Kinley in the months before arriving. Kinley was accommodating to all our ideas and wants. Our experience with Kinza as our guide and Wang Da as our driver was wonderful. Both kind and funny people we got along well for the 14 day trip (and we never travel with groups or guides)
It was the best trip of my life. I stayed 9 days traveling across three provinces in Bhutan. A customized journey that included nature, trekking, local experiences, festivals and spirituality. 100% recommended.
I booked my trip for 4 days with Kinley. Everything was systematically organized without any issues and she was also kind enough to have dinner with me the night I arrived. My tour guide was Thinley, he was very patient and answered all my questions. He is very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. The hike to Tiger’s nest was the highlight of my trip. I also got lucky with witnessing the full moon auspicious day chanting happening at all the places of worship I visited.
Mrs Kinley planned the most beautiful trip for us in Bhutan. She booked the most beautiful hotels and planned the perfect itinerary to fit our budget. Moreover, she met us over a delicious lunch and extended a hand of friendship. I highly recommend using her services for everyone looking to visit Bhutan
