My wife and I found Ilker on the Pupa website and first off and most important for me, he responded right away, and continued to whenever I contacted him. Then we talked on the phone and it was obvious he spoke excellent English. He was everything we could have hoped for when we arrived in Istanbul. He followed through on everything, and was always responsive, attentive, and flexible. He is such a nice man and interesting and was so easy and wonderful to travel with. His knowledge of the Ottoman history and the sites we visited was complete and even though we had done a lot of research and study before our trip, he added so much to it all. It was easy to switch from present day Istanbul to the distant past and he was equally open and knowledgeable and comfortable talking about it all. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide (and friend) to make our trip to Istanbul as perfect as it was.
