We had a wonderful time. The pickup was a little cumbersome, as the guide is not permitted to enter the cruise port, so we had to walk out and meet him on the highway. No big deal. The waterfalls were awesome. Physical fitness is a must walking out there, but the water feels amazing once you get there.
What a fantastic cruise ship excursion! Rene picked us up in an extremely nice van, loaded with sodas, waters, and rum (for afterwards!) and did a great job introducing the area to us as we drove to the waterfall excursion. He even stopped to buy mangos and avocados from a roadside stand that we had with our lunch. Our group included two adults and two teenage boys and we all loved our excursion. My husband was worried it may be to strenuous but it was not at all. The hike in included frequent stops and the guides did a good job with preparing us to slide and jump through the falls. One guide even climbed a tree to bring down lychee for us all to try. We also had an amazing photographer, Negra, who captured pictures for the day. That is an extra $55 but worth it. Lunch was a buffet with pasta, rice, fish, and veggies-plus the roadside stand mango and avocado. All in all, I couldn’t be happier. There was no issue with time getting back to our ship and we saved a ton by booking this way versus the ship. 100% would recommend.
We had a great time with Rene. The van was clean. He took great care of us and was very knowledgeable about everything we did and the area. We would definitely book with them again. The waterfalls were fun. It's about 1hr of walking there and back once you get to the ranch and 90 mins of going through the waterfalls. It's very beautiful. The lunch was good and they had lots of choices of food from the area.
I cannot say enough good things about our waterfall excurision! Even though we only experienced 4/7 waterfalls due to low water levels, everyone in our group agreed this was the best excursion we have ever been on. Rene took care of us from the moment we met up outside the cruise port at Amber Cove. We felt safe the entire time. The food was excellent. The waterfalls were exhilarating! We also went to a plantation afterward and got to sample coffee and mamajuana as well as pet the birds and learn about local farming and stewardship. Excellent, excellent service all around! We had ten people in our group ranging from teens to late 70’s and everyone handled the hike well in water shoes. I will say we all are in good shape. Thank you Rene and team!!
27 Waterfalls w RV tours was incredible. It is a healthy hike to get to the falls, but totally worth it. Definitely wear your swim suit and water shoes. The guides (Baby, Juan, Iz) were incredible. They took care of every detail. They assisted anyone who needed extra help, and provided clear and detail instructions at every stop. The hike is strenuous, however they build breaks in every 5-10 min. The slides and jumps are incredible. Josh, our photographer was incredible. (they will offer the photo service up front. Your entire group for $55) This is a must for the tour. Jost followed us every step of the tour. Got great photos and videos of every jump/slide. Lunch was terrific after the adrenaline rush of the falls. We then made a stop to the plantation and got to see how cigars are made and hand rolled in DR. Try the mamawana (i'm sure i'm not spelling that correctly). Its a combination of rum, honey, red wine. Yummy!! If youre on a cruise ship, they get you back in plenty of time to shop and get back on the ship. Definitely 5/5!!
Rene was top of the line; friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and engaging. Worth the money. Would do it again.
We were on an NCL cruise and were picked up at the cruise port by Rene. He had excellent communication ahead of the tour and in helping us find him for the meet up spot. I will say that if you are arriving at the Taino Bay Cruise Port, due to its size, you should allow for a 10 to 15 minute walk to get to the point where you exit the Cruise Port and the outside tour operators are waiting. Rene was very nice and professional. He took us to the Damajagua Waterfalls and got us into a tour group there (the tour groups to go to the actual waterfalls are run by the National Monument Park). After the tour, he helped guide us to the buffet area and he had fruit waiting for us. On the way back to the cruise port, he even stopped at a pharmacy for us because my daughter had run out of medicine. He still got us back to the cruise port with plenty of time . We had time to enjoy the Taino Bay facilities when we returned. I would highly recommend Rene and RV Tours for visiting the falls.
Wonderful trip. George took care of us at pick up. Air conditioned van. Waterfalls state 27 but some must have dried up. Thrilling experience and the local guides take care of you.
Carlos is wonderful at RV Tours DR. He was so helpful and patient. The waterfalls were beautiful. We will be back and we will be sure to request Carlos at RV Tours DR.
Rene with rv tours DR was wonderful!! I highly recommend using him for your tour. The van he picked us up in was clean and had good a/c. He stopped on the way to the waterfalls and got avocado and dragonfruit. He handled everything at the waterfalls and then met us afterwards and showed us where the buffet was. I would use Rene again for sure!!!
