2 Hour Private Surf Lesson in Byron Bay

I signed up for the four day (2 hours a day course), I had one day with Benny, two days with Simon and my final day with Jonny. I had such a fantastic time overall, all the surf instructors were knowledgeable and personable. Simon took a group of us out to deeper waters with bigger waves and I have not and will not stop talking about, the absolute best experience!!! Can’t wait to go surfing again. 🏄‍♀️🤙

It was a great surfing experience. Our guide Gio was great and our surfing will surely improve with his tips.

I cannot recommend Soul Surf School enough!! I went with two of my girl friends and we booked 2hr lessons for two days. Our instructor was Johnny both days and he was AWESOME!! On the first day were in a group of six, all of whom had never surfed before. This was a great size to learn in because we kept rotating to ensure everyone got little breaks when needed but also got the most out of the two hour lesson. When we arrived to the beach, we did a quick warm up, practiced a few times on the sand, and immediately went into the ocean. While I was intimidated to just get up and try, Johnny was great with corrections and advice to make each attempt better. On the second day, not only did he remember our names from the prior day, he also remembered what to work on and we immediately saw the difference. After just two lessons, I was able to successfully surf some waves completely on my own! I am so so happy that I did Soul Surf School and am so grateful for Johnny and the rest of the staff for being so kind, welcoming, and helpful!

I booked a private as I hadn’t surfed in a while and I’m not familiar with the beach conditions and breaks. Being a solo traveller, I wanted the companion and guidance of an experienced instructor. Ben was awesome, gave me heaps of tips other instructors have not in the past. I’ll be booking again before I leave Byron!

Good experience, good lessons with Patrick. We were 3 with différents levels of surf and Patrick gave adapted advises for each people.

We booked a session for our 11 year old son who had no surfacing experience. Our instructor Beau was incredible. Super kind, patient and friendly. Everything you’d want from an instructor. Perfect experience!

I got a lesson for my daughter for her 11th birthday. She is a complete beginner with not much experience in the ocean. Her instructor was Bea and she was hands down the best instructor for my daughter. She helped her feel safe and confident in the water and had her standing up by the end of her first lesson! She was the loveliest and friendliest person and we are so grateful to her that we have decided to book in some more lessons with her specifically. Thanks Bea for giving my girl the best birthday :)

We had two 2 hours lessons yesterday and today. We learned a lot from our instructor who was really nice, professional and good at explaining what to think of. Me and my daughter could stand up and surf the waves on our own after the first lesson.
