2-Hour NYC Golden Hour Sunset Cruise

This was the perfect end of summer fun sunset trip on the water in the Hudson.

Best sunset Manhattan cruise we've ever had! Easy on & off, great tour guide, reasonably priced, and bus service to our next venue afterwards. The tour went from midtown west to midtown east, and Ellis Island. Great photo ops!

You learn a lot about the history of New York and Bobbie was very entertaining. The boat was clean and comfortable, although there weren’t many of us due to the weather.

Worst experience ever! Was so excited about this after seeing the videos. Just know if there is any cloudiness you won’t see a thing. It was like white shades over the windows so no view, elevator was quick and saw nothing. Wayyyy too expensive without the views. That’s the whole point so skip it if there’s any cloudiness (which by the way didn’t look like from street level but once up there there was literally zero view even standing right at the windows). “Exhibits” are not as impressive and super crowded too. Be sure it’s a perfectly clear night or skip it because there’s nothing impressive without the view. So disappointing!

Pros: The cruise itself was great - our tour guide was a NY native (older woman) who provided interesting history about landmarks and integrated personal stories throughout. She spoke for the first hour, and then they played music the remaining time. The tour included many sites along the Hudson River and East River; the boat stopped near the Statue of Liberty on the way back to the pier - they made sure to give people plenty of time to take pictures of Lady Liberty from both sides of the boat. The boat was spacious enough; we decided to hang out on the lower level at the front of the boat and had great views. Cons: The instructions for where to meet were inaccurate. It said if you have your ticket already, go to Pier 79 directly - when we got there, there were signs for NY Waterways, but a different company was there and had to keep directing everyone to go to Pier 78. They should really update the directions online (in the TripAdvisor description) and post signs at Pier 78 to direct people where to go. When we got to Pier 78 (a much larger building), the signage wasn't very clear, but we eventually found the check-in station, which was not very organized. It was really strange given how this looks like a well-established tour. There were many people wandering around looking for them. Once on the boat, there were no safety instructions, which should be standard.

The NY waterways tour was so much fun. There were 10 of us in our group, all mostly from NYC and the surrounding area, and we really enjoyed the tour. We saw views we typically don't get to see, which were so impressive. The tour guide gave some facts which we weren't necessarily aware of, so that was fun too. Highly recommend!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to New York and best value for the money spent. It was a beautiful 2hr cruise and we were able to see the sunset even though it was a little cloudy. The cruise passed right by the Statue of Liberty and as the sunset we were able to see the city lit up at night. As we cruised Bonnie gave a running commentary of the history of the City which made the cruise even more wonderful. She was outstanding. Snacks and drinks also available for a price on board. I can’t say enough good things about this cruise. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Try get a seat on the outside as people are standing up at the railings and preventing good pictures. The guide was nice and the tour was informative but they also walked up and down the outside blocking some of the view.
