Our guide was a fun and enthusiastic one! His love of history is obvious and he loves sharing that knowledge! Thanks for a great time! Would recommend #5 and #6 at Samuel Adams Tap Room and the fish and chips at the Bell in Hand.

Boston isn’t just one of America’s most historic cities—it’s also home to some of New England’s most legendary pubs. This lively pub crawl combines Revolutionary history with great local drinks, making it perfect for history buffs and beer lovers alike. Forget the classroom and the textbooks—this is history the Boston way. Your knowledgeable local guide will lead you through the city’s historic streets, stopping at iconic taverns where stories were shared, deals were made, and revolutions were whispered over a pint. Along the way you’ll visit famous watering holes like the Green Dragon Tavern and the legendary Bell in Hand Tavern, along with other classic Boston drinking spots. As you go, you’ll hear tales of revolutionaries, rebels, and everyday Bostonians who once gathered in these very taverns. It’s a fun, social way to explore the city, walk in the footsteps of the Founding Fathers, and experience Boston’s history one drink at a time. Bottoms up!

Vann was an excellent guide. He was enthusiastic and had a deep understanding of the history of the area and was knowledgeable about the beer, beer types and the Boston brewing scene. He was very engaging and conversed with us about a range of different topics. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Tony did a great job on a busy Friday night and was very patient with us old folks. Highly recommend this tour! And Top Dog Tours is a great company with competent and caring customer support!
Tony was great. Fun time. Be aware, unlike food tours, you purchase all of your own drinks on the pub crawl.
Tony was great! We had a blast getting to see some old taverns and hear the history! Would definitely recommend!
This was one of the best things we did on our trip! We weren’t sure if we wanted to do it but SO happy we did. All of the communication about booking and where to meet was very clear so we found our tour guide right away. We had Tony who was absolutely phenomenal!! He had such a good balance of history, humor, and Boston/Salem knowledge. We stopped at three pubs and the drinks were great along with the history! Would highly, highly recommend doing this, you will not be disappointed!
Our guide was so much fun and shared so much information with us! Highly recommended!
Tour guide was great, but the experience itself wasn't worth the price. Essentially easily google-able stuff or already known things about Boston bars. No set aside area for the group to mingle, we just ordered our own drinks in a loud bar and then went ot the next one.
Had a great time on our pub crawl. Guide was really good and informative! Gave us lots of helpful tips around the city. Looking forward to receiving our group picture! Fun adventure!
Six of us joined our expert guide Tony for a trip around the old pubs of Boston. Tony’s history knowledge was excellent adding to the experience. Loved the cosy atmosphere in Durty Nelly’s, could have stayed there all night. Other guests were so friendly & great fun. Overall I would recommend this tour & the crime tour too.
