Enjoying the desert

Wear warm clothes for the night and ride in Quad without any doubt. It's worth it even though the trip gets heavy. An experience to live.

Tips for a Good Experience

Let me start by saying I would encourage others to do this trip. That said, I felt we could have used more information as to how the trip would be handled. The trip in the van was very long, with one major stop to tour an area and have a lunch, which really was not "optional" as we were all taken to the restaurant and seated. We had packed a lunch, but we could not retrieve it, so ate with the others. Near sunset, we were dropped off in a field where there were camels. We assumed our driver would go on to the camp site, but instead we had to take our bags with us. Two women had suitcases, which was very awkward for them. The ride to the camp on camels took about an hour. The camp itself was fine and the staff were great. We had expected the camp to be relatively primitive, so that was not a surprise. It was fascinating to talk to the staff about their love of the Sahara. The sky at night was amazing. So I encourage you to go, just be prepared.

Unforgettable Night in the Desert

The tour was great overall – truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A few things to keep in mind: the journey takes many more hours than the actual time spent in the desert. The groups are small, which is a big plus. I went in August and, surprisingly, it wasn’t too hot during the day. The car had air conditioning, but inside the tents at night it was quite warm, so some people chose to sleep outside on carpets. The camels are very well taken care of, and the ride itself was enjoyable. On the way, the bus stops several times for bathroom breaks and twice for meals: once on the first day heading to the desert, and again on the way back. The food at both restaurants was really delicious and the portions were generous – just a little more expensive compared to Marrakech, but that’s all (around €15 plus drinks at the first one, and €13 including drinks at the second). There’s also a visit to a Berber village, which costs €4 extra, while in most other tours I noticed it’s usually around €2. Still, the tour was really good and definitely worth it. Overall, a memorable and well-organized experience.

Scam, fraud

SCAM FRAUD Do not book this tour. The tour did not take place, we waited for the pick-up in vain. This is fraud, scam.

New Year's Eve 2024

Beautiful views and friendly and pleasant travel companions. The experience fell short of expectations due to lack of organization. In my opinion it was all hit and run, too many things to visit and little time to appreciate them. New Year's Eve in the desert of Zagora was quite disappointing, the desert seemed very fake and built, like Berber songs after dinner. The night was particularly cold, I recommend gearing up with high mountain clothing.

Dissatisfaction

It's so sadly set to be just another tourist trap. The idea for the trip is so nice as a night in a desert in berber's tent with dinner and sightseeings on the way....but in fact you are forced to eat in overpriced restaurant where they rush and don't even cook well, you are given a dinner as chicken tajine even if specified and double confirmed for vegetarian meals and you ride the camel in total for less then an hour. The camp was alright, it was actually more comfortable then we expected, but the long drive with expensive lunched without a choice and the hustle is not worth the short camel ride and the little desert. To be fair with the review, our driver was a cool man you explained the route and stops and was speaking english as well as our guides in the cities and the camp. So this trip is only good for people who want to kill the time on holidays and doesn't need to eat well on the way, then it worth to book...and highly recommend to take a walk around the camp in night and try to find a spot without light polution to enjoy the night sky. (take a compass to get back right, as there are more camps next to each other).

Excursion to Zagora

I highly recommend this excursion. It is a bit long and there are many hours of travel, but I totally recommend it because not only do you see the Zagora desert, you also stop at many beautiful places such as Ait Zineb or Ourzatate, among others. Afterwards in the desert we spent a good night. The haimas are very well equipped and the dunes and sunrise are precise. The experience with the camels was also very good, and the Berbers there are very friendly. We have been left wanting more and we will repeat with Abdu! Who has been very attentive and has been in charge of organizing this excursion

Amazing trip, so worth doing,

This trip was amazing. Crossing the Atlas mountains is so stunning, it is cold in the desert at night in feb ,so dress appropriately, The bus driver didn't say much at the beginning, he became more chatty over the days, and the stops are timed well, they r at location for mostly tourist , the food was òk , bring snacks as portions arent huge. the guides that meet us at the historical sites were excellent,

memorable trip with full of experiences

the trip happened as organized. our pick up taxi had a flat tyre, but even with this they organized to take us in time to the start point. the atlas crossing, the kasbah visits, the lunches were perfectly organized! The camel ride was just as long as it was comfortable at the end of a long day and at the beginning after a tent sleep. The sunrise was excelent, and we enjoyed zhe view of a nice moon set and the stars. Abdu the driver took care of us all time and drove safe.
