2 Countries Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland tour from Prague

Description
On this tour we will visit most interesting sites of the national park. The content of it varies between the summer and winter season. You will be picked up in Prague and we will drive first to Germany to famous Bastei Bridge. Views from the bridge are just breathtaking. After that we will drive through Elbe Canyon back to the Czech part of the park. Do not forget to bring your passport or any ID with you. We will visit the largest sandstone arch in Europe - Pravcicka brana, which is set in a countryside looking like the Lord of the Rings movie. You will love a lunch in a local traditional restaurant where we cover one meal and drink. !Only between April and October! After the lunch we will descend a hill down to the river to have a boat trip in the Wild Gorge. The scenery of the place is like a fairytale. A total distance of the hike is 8 miles, divided into three parts. Most people, who are used to walk regularly can do it easily.

Itinerary
You will be picked up in the morning at your accomodation in Prague together with all other participants. Maximum size of our group is 7. We will drive in a comfortable Mercedes van approximately 2 hours to our first stop on this tour which is in Germany. Rest room stops guaranteed.
Passport or ID needed for this part. Our first stop on this tour is famous and picturesque Bastei Bridge in German (Saxon) part of the national park. A bridge that once connected land with the castle built in sandstone rocks. We will spend approximately one hour there and we will help you to get the best pictures and learn something about the place as well.
On our way from Bastei back to the Czech Republic we will drive along Labe /Elbe river approximately 30 minutes until we will get to the gate to the Czech part of the park - Hrensko village. We will park our van there.
Bohemian Switzerland is simply the Czech part of the national park. We will spend the bigger part of the day there doing various activities mentioned below.
The most famous part of the Czech half of this park - is the largest sandstone arch in Europe. We start our hike from the parking lot. It is 1 kilometr on the road and 2,5 km up to the hill (the same distance back then). For most people this hike is easy but some people who are not used to walk or exercise it can be more challenging. Take your time. You will make it to the top in the end and the views that are waiting there for you are worth it. Little kids, seniors, they all are hiking to the top every day. You will do it too. Easily. Remember, during the winter season (November to March) the arch is open only from Friday to Sunday. Tisa Rocks labyrinth is our winter alternative.
You will be hungry. We will take you to a local restaurant to taste some good Czech food and a good Czech beer (or a soda if you like).
Between April and October only. Some people like this part the most. The gorge is really nice place. The access to it leads through long stairs in a forest down to a river. River Kamenice is in some parts accessible only via boat. And that is your trip. Boats leave from a port through the gorge and at the end of it they return back.
In the end of our day we will take you back to your hotels in Prague again.

We booked the 2 Countries: Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland tour from Prague with our guide Mikki, and it was one of the best experiences of our entire trip. Mikki was outstanding from start to finish — fun, engaged, and with us every step of the way rather than just pointing us in a direction and disappearing. He took care of every detail: he'd arranged a table for us ahead of time so lunch was seamless, made sure everyone had bathroom breaks throughout the day, and was happy to pull over for snacks on the drive back without us even having to ask. Little touches like that made a long day feel effortless. The scenery was stunning — Bastei Bridge is every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest, and the hike to it was gorgeous without being too strenuous for our group, which included kids. The boat ride afterward is a short, relaxed float rather than anything intense, but it was a lovely, peaceful way to cap off the hike. Mikki also pointed out filming locations along the way, including spots used in Narnia, which was a fun bonus for the kids. Honestly, though, what we'll remember most isn't just the sights — it's the connection we made with Mikki himself. He felt less like a tour guide and more like a new friend showing us around his country. Can't recommend this tour, and Mikki specifically, enough.
Fantastic day, the highlight of our 3 week trip to Eastern Europe. Marek picked us up exactly on time and was a wealth of information during our drive. Polite, respectful and we’d adopt him as a grandson in a heartbeat. He hiked with us in both national parks, giving historical and geological background. My husband walks slowly (he is 80 ) and never did we feel rushed. This is why a group size of 3 was perfect for us. Marek stopped often, took pictures of us and engaged in fun and informative conversation. Lunch at a small village cafe was great and the beer even better! You can not ask for a better guide and driver nor a more enjoyable experience. It was a physical day but so worth it. The views were phenomenal and river ride relaxing 11 hours later we returned to the hotel, tired but grateful for the opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and hike 2 national parks. An entirely different perspective than multiple cities. Wishing Marek the best at the university. Thank you for the day
Stunning views. But they did too much for most people to do in one day. The hike to the Arch was difficult even for those who like to hike in mountain terrain. The boat ride wasn't worth the 20 minutes of stairs going down that you had to then walk back up. I didn't do the boat because I have a recently diagnosed neuromuscular disorder, but the others on the tour all regretted doing it. Partly because it was too hot and partly because it was too much physically in back to back activities. It was very hot the day we went, and the van was changed out the night before, and it wasn't clean and didn't have everything promised in the description I received. Specifically, there wasn't a lot of water - again, heat wave - the water wasn't in a cooler so it was HOT. And there weren't any walking sticks to borrow.
Miki was fantastic as a driver and tour guide. He kept us on schedule, was super friendly and helped out by taking great photos of us. The hike should not be billed as an easy hike - where I’m from that would be a moderate (3 or 4) hike due to how much uneven uphill there is for how long - most of the 1.25-1.5 miles to the arch was uphill. Thankfully we could go at our own pace. The added river cruise was pretty but not worth the additional hike - another almost .75 downhill to the boat for a 15-20 minute ride. What goes down has to come back up! Again not an easy hike. We’re glad we did it and we did enjoy it but do wish our expectations had been set better before signing up.
There is a lot of hiking. No poles were provided which other tour companies did.. I was picked up in a beat up van with windows cracked. Covered in duck tape No professional car.. Guide was nice, same as driver. Drove extremely fast.
Vojta was an excellent guide. He made the experience very enjoyable. We had a very fun day, would highly recommend a day out in nature.
2 beautiful hikes, read the description for proper attire. Lunch at a local small spot with beautiful views, easy relaxing short boat ride with small group. Vojta, our guide was knowledgeable and fun, had water for us and stopped at gas station on the way and let us purchase snacks, etc with no rush. Overall great!!! Definitely recommend if you love hikes and national parks. Amazing views worth the hikes 💕
The guid was very knowledgeable and very nice a person, We were very happy to have him and the park is very beautiful.
Marek was an amazing guide! he accommodated our group in his own car when the company truck had troubles, and made sure we were taken care of. He is polite, funny, and extremely knowledgeable on the sites. He also shared many additional insights to the Czech culture, which made the tour more meaningful. The sites we visited were beautiful and we spent just the right amount of time at each place. Highly recommend!
Votya is a great tour guide, he was knowledgeable and fun, we love the scenery but did not realize the hike was a bit difficult for us, but overall we had a great time.
