We (3 friends) have made the Everest Base Trek. Due to bad weather, we drove the jeep on the way out instead of by plane. The organization was taken care of very well, it was a real adventure. Our guide Binod was always with us and took care of everything: Food, drink, accommodation, transfer. He always assessed the weather very well, so we were always on the road with the best weather at the times of day. At Basecamp we were even all alone in bright sunshine. On the way back we hurried a bit at our request because we wanted one more day in Kathmandu. The guide and porters have supported our plan very well. In the end we are in 48h from the base camp back to the airport to Lukla, where we also got a flight reactively due to our guide Binod. We landed in Kathmandu safely, happily and with unforgettable experiences and pictures. Thank you!

Our guide Binod was not only very experienced and professional, but also incredibly warm and attentive. I must confess that I was unaware of the opportunity of guided treks to Everest Base Camp until a friend mentioned that he had successfully in May 2023 completed the trek with Nepal Lion Tours. Everest Base Camp was never on my Bucket List, but the opportunity of this once-in-a-lifetime experience intrigued me and I decided to give it a go. I did not shop around the various companies who offer the opportunity, but decide to rely on my friends recommendation of Nepal Lion Tours and signed up with them for November. This proved to be the right decision, as the whole trip was professionally organised to perfection by them. Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport I was greeted and welcomed by Nepal Lion Tours` charming proprietor, Shiva. He accompanied me to my hotel and, later in his office, over a cup of chai, briefed me on the details of the tour and entrusted to me a sleeping bag and duffel bag (I already had my own down jacket with me). Next day, upon arrival at Lukla, the gateway to the Everest Base Camp trail, I was greeted by my intrepid guide, Indra, and my young porter. Indra, a remarkable and charming man, took excellent care of me throughout my tour organising simply everything and explaining things along the way. Unfortunately, halfway through the first day of the trek I experienced, with each step, pain in my knee which got worse with each day and at the end of day six was too painful to continue, so, sadly, I had to abandon my adventure. Notwithstanding the inconvenience caused by my abrupt decision not to continue, Shiva and Indra were understanding and absolutely marvellous. At short notice they reorganised everything (a helicopter for next day to take me back to Lukla, overnight accommodation there and the flight back to Kathmandu). Shiva also organised the booking for the earlier return to my hotel in Kathmandu. Whilst back in Kathmandu, Shiva, also kindly organised for me a very interesting sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. It was 14.11.24, we reached the Everest Base Camp, a dream come true. The beauty of the trail is just jaw dropping and the captivating landscapes around is a sight to behold. The rigours of the trek is always rewarded by mind blowing panoramic sceneries which always gives impetus to keep going. After the summit one just becomes euphoric. The ecstatic feelings sometimes turn melancholic to see the memorials of many who gave up their lives in the mountains unfortunately in pursuit of their adventurous dreams The entire journey is mesmerizing and gives us countless memories to cherish life long. I am much thankful to Nepal Lion Tours & Treks Pvt Ltd for making our endeavour a grand success. We were provided with comfortable & hygienic accommodations with good food throughout the trek, as assured by Nepal Lions. Our guide was a nice guy as well the porters who were all arranged by our trek operator. We are specially thankful to Mr Shiva, proprietor of Nepal Lions Tours & Treks who rendered his kind support by providing us a heli service due to an exigency during our descend. We didn't had a travel insurance, Mr Shiva arranged a helicopter at the earliest without even taking any advance money for such emergency service. Sorted evergthing out for us including a everest base camp trekking 12 days back from lukla as possibility of the airport being closed due to weather.
