It is a famous tourism destination in Hunan province which was officially recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1992. The pillar-like formation seen through the park are the result of many years of erosion. With over 90% forest coverage, the scenic area comprises Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Golden Whip Stream and Tianzi Mountain. The minority culture and folklores are represented in nearby villages and towns, inhabited by Tujia, Bai, Miao and Hui people, making worthwhile side trips.
It is the highest and fastest sightseeing elevator in the world and provides a spectacular view of the sandstone peak forest. It has a height of 326 meters and can carry 3,000 people an hour in the three transparent elevators. It only takes 88 seconds to travel to the top of the mountain.
Yuanjiajie is in the northern corner of Zhangjiajie National Park. This area, characterized by towering sandstone pillars formed over millions of years of erosion, is famous and popular for its Hallelujah mountain, named after Avatar's floating rocks. The most popular attractions are: Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, First Bridge Under Heaven and so on.
It is known for 4 natural spectacles--the clouds of mist that circle the peaks of the mountain, the amazing views of the rising sun, the moonlit nights and snowcapped winter peaks. They include more than 80 natural platforms to take in the magnificent scenery. Take the cable to Tianzi mountain to enjoy the views upway and relax.
The world's longest & highest glass bridge is also located in this scenic area. Walking on the glass bottom bridge that is 300 meters above the ground will be the coolest experience of your tour!

It was a great experience, this Tour was amazing and I highly recommend you go with a tour guide because the national forest at ziangjianje and the sky bridge are very overwhelming and there are so many shuttles you must take and wouldn’t know which one to take if it weren’t for the tour guide, Cara was the best!! If you can reserve with her, she was very kind and patient and explained us everything!

Everything was excellent. The comfortable SUV, pleasent driver, great English speaking tour guide. Showed all the highlights efficiently. We visited during summer holidays so was a bit busy but no really long queues. All in all highly recommended.

We had the most extraordinary day exploring Zhangjiajie with Liz! From the moment we met her, she was incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable.
