We cannot recommend Isuru and Mahaweli Tours highly enough after an absolutely incredible two-week trip around Sri Lanka. From the very beginning, the trip was expertly planned and organised around us, with a fantastic itinerary that gave us the perfect balance of adventure, culture, wildlife, scenery and relaxation. The standard of accommodation throughout was excellent, and the organisation of the entire trip was genuinely faultless. Isuru was an absolute pleasure to have as our guide. His professionalism, knowledge and experience really set the trip apart. He didn’t simply take us from one destination to another — he gave us a much deeper understanding of the places we visited, the culture, history and traditions, and knew exactly where to take us and when to make the most of each experience. What we particularly appreciated was how personal and tailored everything felt. Isuru took the time to understand what we wanted from the trip and continually went above and beyond to make sure we experienced Sri Lanka fully. His local knowledge also gave us opportunities and experiences that we simply wouldn’t have found ourselves, making the trip feel incredibly unique rather than like a standard tourist itinerary. From incredible wildlife and tea plantations to temples, cultural experiences, beautiful scenery and some very special moments celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, we came home with memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. The whole trip was incredibly well organised, seamless and stress-free, allowing us simply to enjoy every moment. We (a family of four) booked a 14-day round-trip tour through a German tour agency that included a private guide, visits to many sights, and a few days of beach vacation to relax—all very well organized by Mahaweli Tours. It was a fantastic round-trip, especially thanks to our outstanding and very helpful guide, Pradeep, who took us safely and comfortably to all the highlights, shared a wealth of information about the country, culture, nature, wildlife, and religions, and planned our days perfectly. Pradeep was always very warm, friendly, patient, and helpful. His exceptional service made the tour perfect! We can wholeheartedly recommend Mahaweli and Pradeep as a guide to everyone! We were thrilled and will miss Pradeep and Sri Lanka as we fly back to Germany today. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful trip to Sri Lanka, followed by a magical stay in the Maldives. Sri Lanka was adventurous, fun, and everything we hoped for. We loved the variety – from safaris, food and temples to beautiful nature and so much more. We would definitely recommend Sri Lanka as a destination! The only thing we would have done differently was to spend more days there. We originally asked for a longer stay, but were advised against it by the company. Looking back, we would have preferred the extra days, as there was a lot packed into a short time and many hours spent driving, which made parts of the trip feel a little rushed. Other than that, everything was fantastic. Our guide, Elmer Bartholomeusz, was great and did a wonderful job showing us around the island. Overall, an amazing and memorable trip!

We are a family of four from Norway who have just returned from an incredible 8-day tour in Sri Lanka, organized in cooperation with Mahaweli Tours as the local tour operator. We were very fortunate to have Dulaj as our guide and Shane as our driver throughout the entire journey. They went above and beyond to make sure we experienced the very best of Sri Lanka, not only the famous sights, but also many hidden gems and special places we would never have discovered on our own. Our journey offered an amazing variety of experiences: ancient temples and historic sites, the spectacular Sigiriya/Lion Rock, beautiful tea plantations and mountain scenery, exciting safaris with leopards and other wildlife, the unforgettable train journey to Ella, and the charming coastal town of Galle. What made the trip particularly special was that Dulaj also took us to lesser-known places and local experiences away from the main tourist attractions. These unexpected discoveries gave us a much deeper and more personal impression of Sri Lanka. Dulaj is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and attentive, with a genuine passion for his country. He was always happy to adapt the itinerary to our wishes and interests. Even though we had a full programme, he made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy each experience without feeling rushed, while also allowing for enough breaks and time to relax. Despite seeing and doing so much in just eight days, we never felt exhausted, only excited and energized by everything we had experienced. Shane was an excellent driver who made all our journeys comfortable and relaxing. Even in Sri Lanka’s busy traffic, he remained calm and professional, and we always felt completely safe in his hands. Both Dulaj and Shane are genuinely kind, friendly and accommodating. They were always punctual, attentive and willing to go the extra mile to make our journey as enjoyable as possible. We are very happy with our experience with Mahaweli Tours as the local partner, and in particular with Dulaj and Shane, who played such an important part in making our journey truly unforgettable. It was our first time in Sri Lanka. Our guide Pradeep Wickramage from Malaweli Tours took excellent care of us from the first to the last second and made our vacation a unique experience. He introduced us to the country and its people and provided deep insights into the culture of the country. His knowledge of nature and wildlife was impressive.
