We had such a brilliant visit to Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Cusco. Our driver, Mario, picked us up directly from our hotel in Cusco and was fantastic from the moment we set off. He was super informative throughout the drive, sharing loads of interesting information about Cusco, the Incas and the surrounding area. He even had a book about Cusco and the Incas in the car for us to browse through on the journey, which was a really nice touch and made the drive part of the experience itself. At the sanctuary, our guide Aurelio was fantastic. He took us around each of the animals, explaining their stories, how they came to be at the sanctuary and the work being done to care for them. You could really see his genuine care and passion for the animals, which made the tour feel much more personal. One of the highlights was getting the opportunity to feed some of the animals ourselves, which made the experience even more memorable and interactive. It was a really interesting, enjoyable and memorable visit, and a great way to learn more about Peru’s wildlife and the work being done to protect and rehabilitate the animals. A huge thank you to Mario and Aurelio for making the whole experience so enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re staying in Cusco! 🇵🇪🦙🦅

It is a great way to support the Santuary and the work they do. Our guide was very informative and we had the chance to feed several animals. Rainbow Macaw, Galapagos Turtles, Deer. The VIP tour includes pickup and return. The staff and volunteers are all friendly and helpful. Don’t miss feeding the Lamas and Alpacas it was a great experience.

Wonderful tour-highly recommend! We loved learning more about the animals and seeing the condors flying overhead.

This wildlife tour was absolutely amazing, Yeremy hd such good knowledge and showed throughout the entire tour that he and everyone else cares about these animals I would 100% go back and do this tour especially if you love animals and want to see how they care and rehabilitate injured animals 😊😊😊

This was amazing and a highlight of our Peru trip! Roger was so friendly and our pickup was easy, he also dropped us off right at our Airbnb instead of the central dropoff point. While we were on site, Elba gave us a wonderful tour with a lot of background about the various animals and how they ended up needing to come to the sanctuary. We got to be very close and feed many animals, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Highly recommend if you are staying in Cusco. And recommend their VIP option with pickup as we were originally going to try to just Uber and were having difficulties getting a ride since it’s a bit far outside of the city. Definitely worth it.

Was a great experience to hear about the animals and why they were at the sanctuary. We felt it was a little rushed, and would have liked a little more time for photos, but we really enjoyed it.

The animal sanctuary does really wonderful rehabilitation work and the tour was handled wonderfully. The experience with arranging pick-up was a little bit confusing because I had to contact the sanctuary to figure out what time I would be attending and when the pickup would be. However, once I realized that I needed to set that up, Cochahuasi made it so easy and we were able to be picked up right at our hotel in Cusco. It was a great experience and a wonderful opportunity.

We loved this tour. Seeing up close, Andean Condors, Toco Toucan and Pumas - to name a few and being able to feed alpacas and turtles was great. Our guide, Yeremy was very good and it was also rewarding to know that by visiting, we supported the good work the Cochahuasi Sanctuary is doing.

The guide and staff were amazing and informative, with great English skills. The pickup made it super easy with no trouble. Cannot recommend it highly enough, especially how cheap the private VIP tour is. Really refreshing to see a sanctuary rather than a zoo.

Great tour of the sanctuary with a lot of feeding activities with the protected animals there. Excellent tour for families, especially those with young children. Highly recommended!
