The trip was well organized and an amazing journey. My tour guide Juan Carlos and Walter were amazingly knowledgeable and shared about the Incan culture and archeological sights . They made the journey fun and took care of all the logistics perfectly
From initial booking to final hotel drop off - everything with alpaca was flawless. We booked the 4D/3N Inca trail for mid September. Alpaca was always prompt in their responses to my many, many emailed questions leading up the the trek no matter how small they seemed. They truly take care of all logistical component to make the experience as smooth as possible from booking Machu Picchu entry tickets, bus tickets, train tickets, storing luggage, etc. so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our guides, Javier and Carlos, were as good as they get. So knowledge about the culture and history, patient and encouraging throughout the difficult moments, and integrated seamlessly/helped a group of 16 strangers become a family. They timed everything perfectly by making sure we got to the right spots at great times to avoid many other groups, assisted with photos, etc. I was impressed by the quality (and quantity!!) of the hot, fresh breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily! They also provided snacks in the mornings for us to take each day. The porters work SO hard and deserve every piece of recognition they get. Super kind people who made camp life so easy for us, this wouldn’t be possible without them. They really are incredible. We did consider doing a private trek, but we are so glad we chose the group option - we got to meet some of the most amazing people from all over the world and form a bond we’ll never forget. Lastly, the Inca trail itself is absolutely incredible and worth every single breathless step. Machu Picchu is amazing but the journey getting there is a very close rival. If I had to do it over again I’d 100% choose Alpaca!
Once in a lifetime experience! From day one we were well taken care of. Our group bonded together along with our guides, portors, and chef. As we progressed through the glorious mountains with each challenge there was support and celebrations for our achievements. A big thank you to Juan Carlos and Yadi for their attention to all the details.
Just completed the 4 day tour. Once in a lifetime experience. Javier was an amazing guide and was very well organised. Machu Picchu was worth the hike alone but every day was amazing. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Thanks to Carlos as well!!!

This was the best hiking experience I’ve ever had. Juan Carlos (more or less lol) and Yadira were the best. They pushed us all the way through the trail with great historical and cultural knowledge bombs. The food was amazing and the accommodations were what you’d want to experience this type of terrain. I always felt safe with no issues along the way. If you can push your ego and creature comforts aside, you’ll embrace a cultural experience you’ll never forget. Thank you Alpaca Adventures for a safe and incredible trip of a lifetime.

I can't say enough good things about our trip. Our guides Juan Carlos and Yadira were absolutely amazing and felt like friends from the first step. I always felt in good hands and they were over accommodating when I had some altitude issues. The tour was amazing and you learn so much about the Inca history. You not only get a full tour but a full culinary experience by the chef German. Somehow he turns trail food into a Peruvian dining tour. The porters are the real MVPs. Alex and his team were always there for you. The hard work they do is unimaginable and we would be unable to do the trek without them.
We had an amazing experience with Alpaca! Everything was organized so well and exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious! A great variety by our chef, German. He even baked us a delicious cake! We had a wonderful group of porters led by Alex. The porters were full of energy, helpful, and welcomed us with cheers as we came into camp each night after hiking. Our guides, Juan Carlos Zuloaga and Yadira were incredible. They are so passionate about their culture and we learned so much about Incan culture along the way. We loved every minute of this experience!!!
