Awesome experience customized to your family needs and desires. Our tour guide Melissa was outstanding and made our experience! She was warm, full of Hawaiian history and stories - she was great with our children and provided us the perfect day!!
John was super knowledgable about Maui and Hawaii. He made us feel very comfortable and kept us engaged. He showed us all the hidden gems in road to Hana. We had a great a time.
What an amazing time taking the ride to Hana with Coby! He was kind, passionate about the natural beauty and gifts that Maui gives. He gave us a real locals tour showing us "trail snacks" and bringing us to meet some of his many local freinds on the route with special secret spots along the ride. Along the way we learned about the history of the islands from the beginning through wars and trasfers of power. Coby has an impressive database of information about everything Hawaii.......the widlife, the trees, the culture(s) , the history and the environment(s). Every local we came across obviously loves Coby and is easy to understand why after spending a day with him! We travaled with my 73 year old mother a 6 year and an 8 year as well as my wife and I and Coby new perfectly how to make this memorable and special but also accessible to all in our party. Great storys, laughs and excitement filled our day. We will be coming back and taking the ride once again with Coby or maybe grabbing a beer just to learn more. I cannot say more about how fantastic a day we had and how Coby made this day so memorable for our family.
After much deliberation, we decided on a private car service to experience the road to Hana. We had a group of six adults and arrived by cruise ship. Communication was exceptional for the entire experience. Our tour guide, Donovan, was truly amazing. He communicated the day before the tour sharing exactly what we should expect. He arrived on time in a very comfortable new Chevy suburban that comfortably seated all six adults. We got to experience what I would say is an exceptional tour of Hana. We took the long way around Haleakala, which from my understanding, very few people do. We went the back way to avoid rainy weather, which he was in tune to. Going all the way around the back of the volcano was remote and so unbelievably amazing! (The roads were not for the faint of heart, so glad we didn’t have to worry about driving it!) Donovan knew every place to stop. All the good photo places, all the lookouts, and some off the beaten trail spots! We had a delicious lunch at Russell’s Red Sand Chicken Stand, a local place right on the water. Found the best banana bread at Halfway to Hana, iced coffee, and coconut ice cream. It was personal. It was magnificent. And it was exactly what we wanted!
My two teenage sons and I had a great time with Ida. He was professional, fun and got my oldest to jump off waterfall. He knew exactly where and when to stop and made it a stress free trip for me. Ida was a great educator as well which I loved and asked lots of questions. The day ended with a rainbow. Magical.
We did a private tour to Hāna with Ida and he was the best! He is genuinely the nicest person we encountered on Maui and touched all of us with his kind, gentle, and embracing demeanor. He shared Hawaiian traditions and beliefs and we learned so much. He has a true love for Maui and his Hawaiian heritage and it showed. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. If anyone is visiting Maui, this tour is a must and Ida is who you should ask for. Waterfalls, great food, Banana bread, Coconut ice cream, chocolate, rainbow eucalyptus trees, turtles, beaches, rainforest, the best knowledgable and kind tour guide, all in one day. We would highly recommend!
Charlie, our guide, was great - had a ton of knowledge. If you want to be able to enjoy the Road to Hana, a tour is the way to go - and if you want to set your schedule, a private tour is the way to go.
This was our second year in a row touring with Gigi, and we specifically requested her again because she is absolutely wonderful. Traveling with my two girls, one of my favorite things about having Gigi as our private guide and driver for the day is that I truly don’t have to plan or worry about anything. She takes care of it all. Gigi knows all the best spots, what is worth seeing, where to stop, and how to make the entire day fun without it ever feeling rushed or overly planned. She is also amazing with my girls, which is a huge part of why we love her so much. She remembers them, engages with them, and makes sure the day includes things they will enjoy too. There is something so nice about being able to get in the car in the morning and know you are in great hands. We get to relax, enjoy Hawaii, and let Gigi figure out the adventure. She has become one of the highlights of our Hawaii trips, and we will absolutely request her again!
Our guide Levi was wonderful- my 10 year old says “ there wasn’t much filler, it’s right to the business “ . This is a great way to see Maui like a local, see what you want and skip the tourist traps. We had a great day with our family. There was something for everyone
First and foremost is the confidence we had in John's safe driving. He shared his vast knowledge of the area culture, history and plant life. He was accommodating to our wants and needs and assured that our group age from 16 to 76 each had a wonderful time. I would recommend John to any taking this excursion.
