Driver was nice and explained everything about where we were going and doing. I was a long was to Helen which we new but would not advise anyone to do it. Also we where not expecting a LYFT driver to pick us up. Maybe rethink this tour.

I did want to clarify one point regarding the driver. Our driver is a Peña Wine Tours driver who also drives for Lyft part-time on her own time. She was working directly for Peña Wine Tours during your tour and was not providing the tour as a Lyft ride. We certainly understand that seeing the Lyft connection may have been unexpected, but it does not change the service or experience being provided by Peña Wine Tours.
Regarding the drive, I’m a little unclear about whether your concern was specifically the amount of time spent driving to Helen, or whether you felt the overall tour itinerary involved too much driving. The tour is a full-day experience from Atlanta to the Helen area, so the drive is unfortunately an inherent part of visiting the wineries and destinations in that region. We do our best to make the transportation time enjoyable by providing information about the area and the itinerary along the way.

Lovely day trip to northern Georgia
If you don’t like wine or shopping, this may not be the trip for you. Otherwise, if you do, sit back and enjoy. For starters, our guide Darlene was great with communication. She checked in the day before our tour to confirm the arrangements. We were picked up at our hotel and Darlene patiently answered all of our questions about what to expect and Atlanta during the 2 hour ride up north. We visited two wineries, Serenity Cellars and The Cottages Vineyard and enjoyed the wine tasting at both. Micaela (phonetic) at Serenity was wonderful in explaining each wine before offering us our choices. The Cottages provided a list with written descriptions to choose from to create our own flight.
Each winery offered 5 wine tastings. We were surprised that neither winery provided any cheese or crackers as part of the tastings but we were able to purchase some to enhance the experience. We happen to meet up with Martin, the tour owner, who was hosting another tour and appreciated him taking a moment to introduce himself and check on how our day was going. As avid shoppers of local artists and wares whenever we travel, the Bavarian town of Helen was a real treat. We didn’t have enough time to explore all of the shops in the main square or to sit down and enjoy some draft beer while listening to live music but thanks to Darlene’s willingness to be flexible on our return time, we were able to get in a little bit of both. On the ride back to Atlanta, Darlene graciously turned over her Bluetooth and allowed me to DJ the car music giving our day tour the perfect finale.
If you have the time, this tour is certain to add fond memories to your Atlanta visit with lots of picture opportunities to memorialize them for family and friends.

Best Southern Hospitality received!
Ms Darlene is an absolute gem. Communication was good. Pick up smooth. Darlene was very knowledgeable and shared this during the long drive. The tour started on a good note and in between my coworker had a personal emergency which meant we had to shorten the tour- Darlene navigated this well and with care. Despite this, I left with a memorable experience of Atlanta. Can't recommend her and this tour enough!

A lovely drive through the mountains
Martin was a great driver and took care of us at each winery. North Georgia wine country was beautiful and we enjoyed live music at both wineries and in the cute German town of Helen

Beautiful experience
Darlene was our driver, and she is the kindest and most wonderful person. She was very attentive and let us go at our own pace, always making sure we were okay. She made the experience even better. If you’re going to take the tour, ask to be with Darlene — you won’t regret it. She is truly a sweetheart.

Great day out winery tour
Our driver Darlene was kind, patient and funny, and made sure we had the best time on our trip. The first winery Serenity was our favourite as the wines better suited our European palettes but we were pleased to go to the Cottage as well as it was in such a beautiful setting. We found a great bar in Helen, which was a little away from the main square. All in all a great day out.

Helen GA winery tour
Had a delightful day with Darlene on our Helen, Georgia wine tour. Our first stop, Serenity Cellars, was a highlight… delicious wines and attentive service from Abby. We enjoyed the time in Helen with a visit to a very good local German restaurant and a walk about the adorable Bavarian town for shopping and sightseeing. Darlene, our host for the day, was one of those special people that you can tell really loves what she does. It shone through the energy she gave us all day, her attention to every detail including our music preferences and videos outlining our destinations, to her positive energy and sense of humor and most of all, her flexibility throughout the day, to make the tour just what we hoped for!

Great private wine tours and Helen shopping!
We went on a private wine tour with Darlene to 2 wineries. The wineries were excellent and views were gorgeous! Darlene then took us to Helen where we shopped around and Darlene gave us extra time! She stopped at a gas station to buy us water and a snack. Darlene was very knowledgeable and gave us great advice on where to go and spend our next day in Atlanta!

Great wine tasting tour!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting at two beautiful, quaint wineries in north Georgia. The drive as you go farther north is just beautiful. We also had about an hour to dine or shop in the Bavarian town of Helen. Everything about our trip was so enjoyable, but if I could add anything that I would have liked is to have a little more time in Helen. You can’t dine and shop in the short time in Helen. It doesn’t change my 5-star review. The highlight of our trip was our driver/guide, Darlene! She was so fun and engaging in conversation. We talked and laughed all the way to our first winery. We even met her boss, Martin, who was doing another tour at our first winery. He came over and introduced himself to us and thanked us for booking the tour. He also explained how Darlene wasn’t scheduled to work that day, but she changed her schedule so she could accommodate our tour. I really appreciate that Martin and Darlene went above and beyond to make our tour happen and made it so much fun!
