We downloaded the Mount Rainier National Park Self guided Audio tour to a smart phone and went as a family. I was a bit unsure how this would work, but it worked very well! We paid $30.00 for entrance to the park with our SUV and 5 people. We chose our entrance to the tour out of the several options given on the app and the tour worked very well in spite of little to none phone service. We enjoyed the day immensely. The narration was excellent and informative as we drove. The suggested stops as we drove helped us not to miss important stops and to see a lot more of the park than we ever would have without the guide. The history stories between stops were also interesting and very informative. The cell phone was connected by Bluetooth to the audio of our car, so our whole family group was able to hear the narration well. We spent about 7 hours touring, but could have easily spent a lot more time. Our whole family group of 5 enjoyed the self guided tour immensely and would do it again! We highly recommend this self guided tour as a great way to tour to the Mount Rainier National Park!

I got this guide for "insurance" such that we wouldn't miss anything. As it turned out we didn't use it . However I also purchased the Olympic NP. Self guided tour thought it was excellent! Turn by turn directions, alerts for upcoming turns. Suggestions on parking and alternative parking lots. Trails to hike things to see and do along with local history and details about the park. I am sure that this self guided tour of Mt Rainer would have been equally informative and enjoyable. I would definitely buy tour experiences from Shaka tours again!

Knowing that you have downloaded the app and do not need WIFI is awesome! The flexibility of going at your own pace is great , and turn by turn instructions worked great ! We went at the end of April and could not see everything due to the excessive amount of snow having most roads closed up by the top.
This is a wonderful way to to experience the park. The guide telling you where to stop and how long it takes to hike specific trails is awesome. The music was great !!! 100% would recommend this to anyone visiting mt rainier.

This works like a charm in Rainier with GPS synch. We learned a lot about this place and is very detailed about look out, parking etc. We had put in # of Travellers = 4 but after one download on Android, it didn't go well with Car play. Couldn't understand if you are all in 1 vehicle, how this # of traveler work? Overall good app.

I was interested in this tour because we hadn’t been to Mount Rainier before and didn’t know any of the hikes or the history. So this was a lovely way to be introduced to all that the mountain has to offer. We visited in May, so half the park was not open yet, but I love that we can still use the app in the summer when we go back.

We went at the end of April thinking it would be a little warmer and the snow would be melted, but it was still cold, it snowed and there was already snow on the ground. Our trip was cut very short. But the audio guide I purchased was very interesting, it was full of information and talked about the stops in great detail. The GPS knows where your at and will stop when you stop and will start when you continue. I don't know what to expect with this audio app tour, but I think it is really a good idea, I would purchase again.
