We met the tour at a central meeting point in Sorrento by the Europa hotel, which is always a bit nervy wondering if the tour will turn up. It was a little late, which to be fair was probably down to the horrendous traffic in the Sorrento are rather than any fault of the tour operator. Once we arrived at Herculaneum we were supplied with a headset so that we could hear the guide clearly in our group of around 20. The tour of the site itself was around 90 minutes and we covered the whole area, which we found less crowded than Pompeii and better preserved. The guide was very informative and took time to explain things fully and answer any questions. Would highly recommend this tour, rather than trying to navigate to Herculaneum yourself and viewing the site without a guide.

A hidden gem
We were told that Herculaneum was a site not to be missed, and it lived up to expectations.
Everyone knows about Pompeii, but many have not come across Herculaneum. The artifacts are in such condition it’s hard to imagine that they are 2000 years old.

Re-visit ancient site
The site has now been brought up to date with ample walks in and around the site . We first visited this site 26 yrs ago when it was still being excavated with some of the original figures could be seen, today they have put skeletons in the same shape as the ones we seen. We had a 2hr tour which was not quite enough time with the volume of people who were there, but we still thoroughly enjoyed it and our guide was very knowledgeable. I would recommend a visit if you happen to be in that area.

The tour itself of Herculaneum was excellent, our guide was very knowledge, very clear and patient. The whole experience was interesting and enjoyable even in the extreme heat.
Bus was slightly late but journey comfortable. Would have been better to know the route home would not be direct, there were a quite a few tui hotel stops which meant a longer trip on a very winding road. Sit near front if not good traveller. We did however get dropped at our own hotel which was appreciated.

Don’t book his tour
We were not told when we booked this that we were being added onto a TUI trip which meant the coach was 20 mins late picking us up and we took nearly 1 hour 45 minutes dropping people off at their hotels afterwards
Our guide was ok but walking around for over 2 hours in the sun was tiring
Major issue this was not what eas expected. We are not on a TUI holiday!!!

Liked Herculaneum better than Pompeii.
Smaller than Pompeii ruins. I liked it better because it wasn’t overwhelming. About 1 1/2 hours to do it. Very well preserved!

Worth the trip!
Fabulous trip to see the wonders of Roman invention and engineering. Much smaller than Pompeii but much better preserved.
