Wonderfully Done!
We had an early morning private tour which was great and very interesting and interactive. Our only complaint was that while our guide was speaking to us, you also hear the recordings of someone giving information. It was very difficult to focus on our guide because we heard the recordings in each room. But if you don’t have a private guide, you won’t have that issue.

Great private tour
On our second visit to EPIC we booked a private tour. Great way to see EPIC in a more focused way. Our guide, Lou Lou, brought key exhibits alive for us and answered any questions we had. Lou Lou was a great guide, and a wonderful person to tour EPIC with.

Great experience!
Great museum and a really unique experience. EPIC is very interactive and modern, with digital exhibits that make the history of Irish emigration engaging and easy to understand.

Better to use your time and money to visit the national museums
Very expensive paid for what it is. You can learn the same information or more by visiting other sites such as the National museum of Ireland, National gallery, 14, Henrietta Street, ...

Dear Maria L,
thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear your visit to the museum did not meet your expectations. EPIC is an independent, not-for-profit museum and as such must cover all its own operational costs. This means that without charging an admissions fee it would not be possible for us to remain open or to reinvest in the museum’s future development. The museum fully adheres to the International Council of Museums (ICOM) definition - https://icom.museum/en/resources/standards-guidelines/museum-definition/. We exist to advance human connection through the compelling and ongoing story of the Irish diaspora, and we do so through our long term and temporary exhibitions, public programming and educational initiatives.
The museum does hold a growing collection of physical objects, a selection of which are on display in several galleries within the long-term exhibition at any one time, but we primarily explore and examine the unique global journey of the Irish people and the influence of the Irish diaspora using audio-visual content, interactive touch screens, motion sensors, art installations and soundscapes.
While there are more than 70 million people globally today who can claim Irish descent, we can only display just over 300 historic and contemporary accounts arranged thematically within the museum at any one time.
Kind regards, the EPIC team.

Waste of time
A complete waste of two hours . We drove from the midlands especially to visit the tour. It took us almost 3 hours to get there on an atrocious wet day. We were absolutely deflated after the experience

Dear Willie M.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to read that your experience with our Exclusive EPIC Private Tour did not meet your expectations, especially after travelling so far and in such difficult weather conditions. This is certainly not the impression we aim to leave with our visitors, and we take comments like yours very seriously.
At EPIC, we pride ourselves on delivering engaging, high-quality guided tours that bring Ireland’s global stories to life. Your review is concerning, and we would be grateful for the opportunity to learn more about what happened during your visit so we can investigate this thoroughly.
If you would be willing, we kindly ask that you contact us directly at smcgettigan@epicchq.com so I can speak to you directly. Hearing more about your experience will help us understand where things went wrong and how we can make improvements.
Thank you again for your time, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a much more positive experience in the future.

Jeanie Johnston
Today we went to see the Jeanie Johnston famine ship replica. We had a lovely tour guide named Cormac who answered all our questions and was very kind. It was so informative. Highly recommend, especially if you are interested in history. We all loved it. Suitable for all ages. Another lovely enjoyable day at EPIC 😃

Very enjoyable
Very good. Lots of interactive displays which showed the extent of the Irish influence on so many different areas of society over the centuries. I learned a lot more that I thought I would!! The 're-entry' is a really good idea - it is valid for 10 days from the time of purchase. We weren't able to see all the exhibits in one day and were able to return to complete our visit on another day. When you finish each section of the tour, you can get your Epic 'passport' stamped, which the young visitors (and some not so young!) get a kick out of! Just a couple of points - the exhibits need to be updated as some of the people referred to in the exhibit have passed on but were referred to as living in the display. The final section on Connections was poor and, I felt, let the exhibit down. It needs more content. Overall though, very enjoyable.

Good for others, not for me
Went here with the wife on my first trip to Ireland. Museum just isn't for me. My wife had a great time, I got a little bored. Loved the food court, and staff was super friendly and helpful. It really isn't a museum in my eyes so much as a walkthrough history book.

For a Younger Crowd.
I can definitely see why this museum is so highly rated. Great layout and exhibits. Put this tour near the start of your Dublin trip, as your receipt gives you extra perks (including reentry).
You get a little 'passport' to stamp in each room (at each exhibit/topic) and it's the sort of thing that seems great for the kids, to somewhat keep their interest in going through the museum. However, the drawbacks are that everyone flocks to these little passport stamping machines and sometimes crowds them, and often many people fly through the exhibits just to get these stamps.
Having said that, though it can be engaging for all, the flashyness and tech element of it probably caters towards a younger crowd who need screens and lights to maintain interest and attention. Those seeking a more relaxed pace, perhaps the elderly, may not enjoy it as much.
If you are unfortunate to be stuck with a bus tour group, especially in a younger demographic, good luck.
