First night in Lyon and got a lot of information and restaurant recommendations from our guide Stéphanie. She did a great job making this evening very enjoyable. Thank you Stéphanie!

Natalie was a wonderful guide—very knowledgeable and generously shared a detailed list of great things to do and see around Lyon. However, the tour itself didn't quite deliver on value for over €90 per person. While the cheese and charcuterie tastings were enjoyable, the food overall was just average. The main course quenelle at Chez Grand Mère was ok, but serving it with only water felt like a missed opportunity—a glass of wine would have paired much better, especially since wine options throughout the tour were very limited. We wrapped up with ice cream at the end and got to take home the regional pink praline brioche, which was a nice touch. Great local tips from Natalie, but hard to justify the price tag.

The meet up was easy. The group quickly cohered. The food was delicious ;and plentiful). Best of all Nathalie’s clear and interesting explanations. They gave us context for what we ate. We also had the opportunity to see a couple sights (passageway, clock).

What an amazing experience! I highly recommend it. I went solo on my first day in Lyon and it was such a great idea. Nathalie is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who’s clearly passionate about food and history. She also gave us some great tips for later that I’m definitely going to use. Book it!

It is a very interesting and delicious tour of Old Lyon. It's more than three hours between stories and snacks.

Great small group experience. Our guide Nicolas was very informative and engaging. 12 in our group. Easy meeting arrangements in Vieux Lyon. Visited 4 different establishments to taste cheese, wine, charcuterie, quenelles of pike, praline brioche & digestif. Lots of new experience, great recommendations for eating & drinking another time on our own. Great fun & very enjoyable

Firstly I’d like to say our guide was excellent. She was enthusiastic about the food, the French, and the history of Lyon. I can’t fault Natalie she was an asset to the company. I thought the advertised gastronic food and wine tour was not up to standard. We paid $366 for 2 people. Our first stop was a cheese shop where we had 5 pieces of very nice cheese and a very small pour of Chardonnay - like half a glass. 2nd stop a dried sausage cafe where we tried about ; different dried meats. There it was combined with a somewhat bigger glass of red wine. Still on the small side. Then 4 the main meal myself and another lady on the tour had the pike quennelle with sauce. I was really looking forward to this local dish ad I’d had it the night before at another bouchon and it was magnificent. This one that I had at this tour was too salty and not of the same standard as I’d had the night before. I left 3 quarters of it and the other lady left half of hers. The husbands had a cheese ravioli dish that they both liked and finished. No wine was served with the main course. I found that strange and I know the other couple where surprized as well. Last course, a famous local breakfast delicacy that Natalie bought in a shop on the way and gave it to us in a local bar to eat. I don’t eat breakfast items for desert and I know it’s a local delicacy but not hitting the spot for me for desert we were also given at this stop a digestive that was lucky to have about 20 ml in it. Sorry I’ve done gastro walking tours that take in 4 or 5 stops all over the world and I didn’t think your tour makes the cut. I didn’t really think there was enough food either. Even though I left 3/4 of my dish. Nobody asked me or the other lady who also had it - what the issue was with the dish. Like I said Natalie was great but clearly she’s under instructions do eat better company to provide the bar minimum so the company can maximise their profits on the food and beverages. For 240 euros you could do a good walking tour in the morning and then pick a lovely bouchon on the peninsula side like le merciere where you would get a great walking tour to learn about lyon and then book a great restaurant for the evening . Much better value for money and it will cost you a fraction of the cost of doing this your.
