Capt Cook Cruises Super Saver Combo: デイセイル+ディナークルーズ

We did the combo: day cruise to the island, sunset cruise. We left Port Denarau when the tide was starting to go out. We took a launch out to the boat. Footing was precarious trying to get from the launch to the larger boat. By the time we got to the island the tide was already quite far out. To get to even waist deep water was quite a distance from shore, over the boulders under the water. The footing was very unsafe. We both fell in the water, onto the boulders, while navigating to the higher water. We finally gave up and just sat on the chairs in the shade. We never got to snorkel after we brought all our snorkel equipment from the US to Fiji in our suitcases. The tour had lunch prepared for us and it was good. When leaving the island, we had to walk about 15 minutes to the other side of the island, due to low tide, with all our gear, to get to the launch. Walking to the launch we were in near waist deep water. Once we got back to Port Denarau we got off the boat. We waited on the pier for about 15 minutes for the dinner cruise to board. Once on board the dinner was good, as was the entertainment. That was the only saving grace of this part of the excursion. Overall, the experience was unacceptable. This seems like somewhat haphazard organization and execution for a company that has supposedly been doing this for years.

First I’ll give the negative part of the review. The sail boat for the day cruise was pretty much a rust bucket in need of some renovation. It definitely did not match the photos in the advertisements. On the positive side, the crew was great. They were extremely nice, helpful, and engaging. The lunch on the island was pretty good and it was nice to have an open bar. The beach experience on the island was just ok. We ended up having really windy weather so we really couldn’t enjoy much of the activities (not that was the fault of the crew).

Beautiful day tour to Tivua Island, and enchanting Sunset cruise to end a perfect day! Kudos to the staff at Captain Cook cruises for making this so special!

We did the day trip but not the sunset dinner. Start to the day 40% chance of rain and we got the whole 40% in an hour and a half. On the way it stopped how sad. Fijian hospitality was again at its best. The captain Cook staff were outstanding. They found out that we were honeymooners, serenaded us for 2 songs, gave us a complimentary cabana at the island. Got wet for the first time in a while( went scuba diving, thanks Joe) , while my partner snorkelled. Lunch was good, tasty, good variety and substantial. Did glass bottom boat after lunch. Haili( studying marine biology) gave an informative and easy to understand explanation. My only comment is the glass bottom boat needed a serious clean and service. The crew entertained us there and back, all being in full voice. What a great day. Many thanks John and Chris from Brisbane.

A lovely day and evening. The snorkeling was good, tried paddle boarding. The island wasn't overcrowded and the crew were very entertaining, singing songs and dancing. The sunset cruise was perfect, the sunset was amazing as was the food and the evening entertainment.

Iva took excellent care of us. She made sure we had a private cabana and brought beverages, brought us to a lovely lunch and was a consummate hostess. We did the tivua day sail and lunch- not the sunset cruise.

What a wonderful and gracious crew. They truly seem to be enjoying themselves. We had a great day. I did an introductory scuba course and the instructor was excellent. What a great time.

An amazing day out to Tivua Island, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. BBQ lunch was delicious with a variety of drinks available. Do recommend to split up the tours on seperate days as it ends up being a very long day otherwise.

This was such a great experience. The food and entertainment was awesome. The team split pur island trip and sunset dinner which was hreat as they kept the price the same. Ideal as a big day otherwise. Mateo and Sherry outstanding along with the rest of the crews.
