Fantastic afternoon touring the grounds and watching the sheepdogs. Highly recommend. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We also had a delicious bowl of soup at the cafe.

Fascinating experience! The fort is an archeological site as well as a working farm. This is an opportunity to learn about ancient local history as well as trades such as shepherding. The sheepdog demo was enormous fun. Pet Rosie!♥️

Really enjoyed the visit. The dogs were amazing and the Shepard Conor was most enjoyable and entertaining.

The sheep dog demonstration is an experience I won't forget. Wow, the patience to train the sheep dogs to not only herd the sheep but put on a show. The 3 dogs each react to their individual commands given by either voice command or a whistle. The entire operation, from restaurants to restaurant to gift shop is first rate.

We were delightfully surprised to come upon this unique combination of Irish history and family farming. Our tour guide for the fort was passionate and knowledgeable. The sheepdog demonstration was equally fascinating, not only for the skills on show but also for the explanation of training the dogs. As a bonus, the cafe served delicious fare. Well worth the reasonable fee and spending half a day. A private note for Pat: I have to disagree about the arrival of Cromwell and the death of Ireland, though I understand the sentiment. You can destroy buildings, criminalize culture, and do horrible things to innocent people, but the spirit of this land could never be destroyed. I feel it everywhere I go. And it radiates especially brightly from people like yourself. Thank you. ❤️

We visited with friends the Caherconnell Stone Fort and assisted the Sheepdog Demonstration. The site by itself is magnificent. Both the fort visit and the sheepdog demonstration were interesting and both guides made the whole experience interesting. Visitor are in a covered area for the sheepdog demonstration. Do not forget to go the Poulnabrone Dolmen less than 2 minute in car nearby.

We had a wonderful visit to Caherconnell! Our tour guide for the forts was fantastic - very informative while making the tour fun and entertaining. The sheepdog demonstration was also a highlight and so enjoyable to watch. Our only suggestion would be to include a Canadian flag among the six flags displayed at the entrance. Overall, a great experience and well worth the visit

If you want an authentic Irish experience and a genuine, warm Irish welcome, Caherconnell Fort is the place to go. I cannot recommend this experience enough, not just because of the unique and fascinating demonstration (the dogs!!!! 💚) but because of how heartfelt, helpful and warm the interaction was between every single member of the team we encountered. As an Irish person, I felt Sean and the whole team, from the gentleman giving the demonstration, to the ladies in the gift shop and all the cafe staff, naturally epitomised a genuine Irish welcome; to the point it made me proud to be Irish! All of the ladies in the gift shop couldn’t have done enough to help and oh my goodness, was the food from the cafe beautiful!!! Sean is a true gentleman and I will definitely be bringing people back here as it was a must do, 10/10 experience!
