This is my first time attending a food tour and Jusep was an amazing host. I brought my young son, sister and father along and it was a great experience. Although I lived in Toronto for many years, Jusep's wealth of knowledge along with his professionalism made for a fantastic time. The food was delicious and I learned many things I never knew about St. Lawrence market and the Distillery District. I highly recommend this tour especially to out of towners and tourists looking for a one of a kind experience of the city.

The overall experience was fantastic. Upon arrival, Jusep was warm and welcoming when meeting us by St. Lawrence market. He was super knowledgable of the history of the area and lots of unique stories that you wouldn't be able to get from a website or a video. During the tour, he took us through both the first and second floors of the market, and even behind the kitchens to a little known bit of history (do the tour to find out!) Once we had two out of the four items on the tour, we walked 10 minutes to the Distillery District. Once again, we got to learn so much about the history of the area and even some fun trivia (the bricks!) The food was overall fantastic and will satisfy everyone. Everything we ate was so delicious and will make you want to go back on your own for seconds and thirds. If you want to truly learn about the St. Lawrence Market and Distillery District from a local, highly recommend that you take the tour!

Highly recommended! As lifelong GTA residents, we decided to try something different on our staycation- not disappointed. Jusep, our guide was highly knowledgeable with very interesting insights, culinary tips and fascinating historical stories- we learned many things we never knew before. Had a truly wonderful, tasty and memorable time. Gave us ideas for further adventures and it was so nice to relax and enjoy without any of the planning or waiting in lines- experiencing much more in the time than we would have ever been able to do ourselves. Perfect choice for people on vacation/staycation who want a curated back pass to two of Toronto’s culinary treasures.

The Express Tour was awesome! The timing was perfect, and our host, Jusep Sim, was both knowledgeable and humorous, making the experience even more enjoyable. We also learned some fascinating secrets and little-known facts about the area, which made the tour even more interesting. The delicious Canadian food treats were a highlight of the experience. The peameal bacon sandwich was excellent on its own, but it became even more scrumptious with the addition of authentic Canadian maple syrup. The Nanaimo bar was a tasty treat that perfectly represented British Columbia. The Montreal smoked meat poutine was absolutely delicious, and the iced London Fog was the perfect beverage to accompany the food. The final treat was a butter tart, which was wonderfully rich and satisfying. By the end of the tour, I was completely satisfied, both from the variety of delicious foods and the wonderful blend of flavors. It was an enjoyable walk filled with beautiful lessons about St. Lawrence Market, the Distillery District, the history of Canada's provinces, and the cultural influences behind many Canadian recipes. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Toronto's history while enjoying some delicious Canadian treats along the way. It was a memorable experience that combined great food, fascinating history, and excellent storytelling. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious, and it was so exciting learning about Candian food culture! Our guide, Jusep, was so kind to us and not to mention hilarious. His amiable personality made the entire experience so much more enjoyable, especially in the scorching heat of the day. You can clearly tell he cares about the food, culture, and the people from these establishments. During the entire tour, there wasn't a single awkward moment. Jusep is clearly well-rounded on the topic of Canadian food culture and I learned a lot I didn't know, despite being Canadian. Taking this Express tour is so worth your time and money!!!

Although I’ve lived in Canada for a number of years, I never really thought of any foods as having Canadian roots. So, when I was invited to go on an “Express Canadian Food Tour” (only 90 minutes), I accepted, thinking it might be interesting. Wow! It definitely went beyond any expectations that I had!! We began our tour being warmly greeted by Jusep. Throughout the tour, not only was his extensive knowledge of the foods we tasted and the history of them clearly evident, but was delivered with a real feeling of passion for what it is that he does. The event wasn’t just about tasting foods and learning new things, but about being engaged in a unique experience! The tour was at a really comfortable pace as well. At no time did I feel we were rushed, nor did I feel there was any significant empty times waiting for the tour to proceed. Everything had been well planned and prepared for ahead of time and moved along smoothly. All of the foods we tried were exceptional. Although I’ve lived in Canada for some time, some of the things we tasted were a first for me. Needless to say, they won’t be the last! I am already hoping to get some friends together to enjoy one of these delightful tours as well!

A good friend invited me on a walking food tour. I have always wanted to go on one but have not had the opportunity. So off we went, a group of 4, to taste some iconic Canadian delicacies! I was warmly greeted by Jusep Sim (Owner and Founder) and with a quick introduction (expectations and the menu - about 90 mins for the whole tour) and some cool "Did you know?" about the St. Lawrence market, we hit our first stop at Carousel Bakery to taste their signature Peameal Bacon sandwich. With a dash of maple syrup provided by Jusep, that hit the mark, I knew that I was in for a treat! Jusep has put so much work and effort into building relationships with all the various vendors/owners, we waited probably less than 2 mins to dive into the food. Next up was a quick few steps to taste another Canadian treat, the Nanaimo bar (chocolate ganache on top of custard icing and a coconut crumb base). While very sweet to me, it did remind me of my trip out west to BC where it gets its name. Our next stop took us out from the St. Lawrence Market across to the Distillery District where we got some really cool fun facts along the short walk. Did you know.... (you'll need to take the tour to find out!) Next stop was Sweetie Pie (recently moved to a larger space in the DD) to have a cold brew London Fog and Montreal Smoked Meat covered Poutine. Both Canadian items! The food came out quick and we enjoyed out time eating our poutine and then walking around the DD with our cold brew to our final destination, Tartistry, for their amazing Butter Tarts! We sat down to enjoy some warm, oh so gooey and buttery butter tarts that hit the spot. A sweet finish to our tour with the bustle of the DD around us. I would definitely bring friends and family from out of town on this tour. Honestly, even those from in town should do take this tour at least once. If you haven't actually tried any of these iconic food items, then you are missing out! Jusep clearly is passionate about what he does and it shows in how he makes you feel from start to finish. I cannot wait to try his larger tour which covers Kensington Market (another great Toronto destination for locals and out of towners).

I was invited on Jusep's food tour as a fun outing with friends, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. The tour turned out to be an amazing experience with excellent storytelling! Not only did we have generous samples of several Canadian classics, but I left with so many new local facts to share, new favourite places to grab a bite, and a very satisfied belly. I actually grew up in Toronto, and I have to say that the tour made the St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District new again for me. I would definitely recommend bringing your family and friends from out-of-town on this foodie tour. Jusep is an incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable guide who will make your next Toronto foodie adventure one to remember for a long time.
