I highly recommend this! Not only is it a great way to see the city by boat, but it was very interesting and informative. The guide, Heath, was super funny and knowledgable and made it very enjoyable!

The dock is a bit run down. There are at least porta-potties. The seating on top of the boat is folding chairs, but pretty comfy ones. But the tour guide was just amazing! So knowledgeable, and he gave a really good mix of historical facts, interesting happenings, Chicago culture, and humor. Very enjoyable!

This was a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable while also being entertaining. The views were amazing and I definitely learned some things about architecture and Chicago overall.

We called in advance specifically to make sure my uncle, who has advanced Parkinson’s disease, would have access to a handicap accessible bathroom during the tour. We were told point blank that it would not be a problem and they had a bathroom that could hold 2 people. Unfortunately, the experience was completely different. Despite the fact that he was in a wheelchair, staff would not allow us to wheel him onto the boat. Instead, he was made to walk onto the boat. He has advanced Parkinson’s and was visibly struggling, and it was extremely upsetting to watch him have to navigate the boarding process this way. This is why we called in advance bc this is exactly what we didn't want to happen. Once on board, I again asked for his wheelchair because we needed to be able to get him to a bathroom. The staff member near the boarding dock was rude and dismissive and told me that it wouldn’t matter because the bathrooms were downstairs anyway. As a result, my elderly uncle with advanced Parkinson’s was forced to sit in the back of the boat, in the sun, for the entire 90 minute tour without access to a bathroom or his wheelchair. He had to simply endure the situation until we could get him off the boat. We were a party of 15 so they were unable to accommodate more than 2 people to sit near him. What makes this especially frustrating is that we called ahead specifically to address his accessibility needs. Had we been told beforehand that he would not be able to use his wheelchair or access a bathroom, we would never have booked the tour. This was not about expecting special treatment. It was about being given accurate information and having reasonable consideration for an elderly person with a significant mobility disability. The way this situation was handled was extremely disappointing and lacked basic compassion and customer service. If you have a mobility disability, are traveling with someone who does or just prefer being around somewhat compassionate human beings I strongly suggest you book elsewhere.

I loved this Architectural tour with Hillary Not only was she knowledgeable and funny but she brought something unique to the tour, not just speaking information, but it was the way she engaged us to really see and understand words attached to buildings so we would understand. Plus she has a great sense of humor. I enjoyed that. Would definitely go again and hopefully have her.

Hillary did a terrific job as our guide giving a lot of information in a fun and funny delivery. You could see she enjoys what she does. I felt very lucky to get her as the guide.

The tour guide, Adam was personable, knowledgeable, funny, patient and engaging. I highly recommend this tour!

The Architecture tours on the Chicago River are wonderful. Hillary our guide was knowledgeable and funny and good at her job.
