This is an amazing experience. Much more personalized and intimate than the huge boats leaving from downtown.
Cliff and his crew were excellent! Beautiful boat, less ‘touristy’ feeling & lots of great history with splashes of humor. 😉 (Ask Cliff about the Dave Matthew’s incident) 🤪 The meet up location was a bit confusing but luckily they reached out to us to see where we were. Very grateful for their customer service. 😁 Thank you! 💌
This is a wonderful tour and the guide was absolutely fantastic. However, we started on a confused and disappointing note as I was asked to pay an additional $15 after having fully paid on Trip Advisor. No explanation, I was just told I had to pay an additional $15 for my family of 3 to board the boat. Not sure if this was Trip Advisor's or boat's mistake, but hope they will get it together and not embarrass another customer as happened to me.
We had a wonderful time. There was a huge thunderstorm for a while before our trip, so most folks canceled. There were only 6 passengers, so we basically had our own personal tour guides. The info they shared was really interesting and informative. I would take that cruise again
Awesome tour of the Chicago River and Dusable Harbor. Smaller, narrower boat so one does not feel as cramped or crowded like on the wider vessels. Very well narrated with lots of interesting tidbits about the history of many buildings. However there were 2 things that keep this from being a 5 star review. First, it is advertised as a 90 minute tour. As most people do when being a tourist, multiple activities are planned in a day. Our tour took 2 1/2 hours, a full hour longer. Fortunately, it did not keep us from making it on time but certainly added some stress and detracted from our overall perception of the tour. Secondly, the narrator held up the beginning of the tour for 15 minutes waiting for some personal friends to arrive and then told us that was the reason he did so.
Thank you for your feedback. We understand how frustrating delays can be, and we apologize that your tour didn’t depart or return as promptly as planned. Our crew follows strict timing guidelines, but on rare occasions we allow a short grace period when passengers are delayed by city conditions outside their control. The extended tour time was due to congestion at the Chicago Lock. The lock is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and when vessel traffic backs up, every boat must wait to enter and exit. This is a required safety and navigation process, and unfortunately not something any tour operator can bypass or speed up. We’re reviewing our procedures to keep departures tighter and to better communicate when lock delays may affect the schedule. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to see you again.

Had a great tour with the fireboat crew. We've been on the Wendella Architecture Tours, which are excellent. This one is fun because we actually went through the locks, twice. We heard different stories about different buildings and learned new historical facts about Chicago. Nice bar on the boat, too. Definitely recommend!!!
We had an amazing two hour historical and architectural boat tour in Chicago! Our tour guide, Cliff, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating facts about Chicago’s history and the beautiful architecture along the river. Cliff was also so personable and genuinely interested in getting to know us. He came over to ask where we were from and even recommended some great places for us to visit during our time in Chicago. This tour was absolutely worth every penny! Seeing the incredible buildings while learning the history and stories behind them made the experience so much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago. Be sure to request Cliff because you won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely wonderful tour all around. The boat is amazing and the crew was fantastic. We learned so much about the area and history, with lots of laughs from the amazing Cliff. Magic Manny the bartender quenched our thirst the entire time. Great seating options with sun and shade, and plenty of space to walk around the boat. It was our first time to Chicago so we highly recommend this tour to get a great view of the city and learn about the architecture of the amazing city. We loved going thru the lock and river, as well as getting the skyline view from Lake Michigan. 10/10!!
