ボールパークは、コロラド ロッキーズ野球チームの本拠地であるクアーズ フィールドを中心とした活気あるエリアで、上層席からは山々の景色を眺めることができます。スタジアムの周囲には、ブリューパブやピザ屋、ゆったりとしたジャズ クラブ、広々とした景色を望む屋上バーが混在しています。

クアーズ フィールドは、メジャー リーグ ベースボールのコロラド ロッキーズの球場です。1995 年にオープンしたこの球場は、デンバーのローワー ダウンタウン地区に位置し、ユニオン駅から 2 ブロックです。野球場の収容人数は 50,144 人です。
デンバーの中心部にあるローワー ダウンタウン (別名 LoDo) は、懐かしさと現代性が見事に融合した場所です。この賑やかな地区には、約 100 軒のレストラン、クラブ、ギャラリー、ショップ、ホスピタリティ ビジネスが集まっており、住民にも観光客にも最適な場所です。LoDo の豊かな歴史は、サウス プラット川とチェリー クリークの合流点で金が発見された 1858 年にまで遡ります。

1881 年にデンバー ユニオン デポとして誕生して以来、2014 年にマイル ハイ シティの文化の中心地として生まれ変わるまで、ユニオン ステーションは長年にわたってさまざまな形をとってきました。現在では、デンバーの主要鉄道駅および交通の中心拠点として、また宿泊、食事、集まり、ショッピングのための活気ある空間として機能しています。

Our guide Andy was great! Funny, informative, interesting! Lots of history, local lore. Great walking tour too! BUT… it was supposed to be 7 tastings… and we only got 4! Supposed to have bison burger tasting … but not! So that was disappointing. But we still give Andy our highest rating.

The best way to learn about a local culture is to experience its food. The Downtown Denver Walking Food Tour, offered through Secret Food Tours, is an excellent way to try some of the local food and learn about the city. My husband and I have taken similar tours in several cities and highly recommend the walking food tours offered through Secret Food Tours. This tour was enjoyable and educational. We experienced several local food spots and tried some delicious bites. My personal favorite was the pistachio cannoli at Osteria Marco, but all the stops were great. Incidentally, my husband's favorite was the smoked elk sausage sandwich at Billy's Gourmet Hot Dogs. Along the way, our tour guide, Kelsey, shared some recommendations for local activities, food spots, and even shared a little history. Kelsey was professional, personable, and engaging. I would highly recommend her as a guide and will always recommend the Secret Food Tours company if you’re visiting a city where they operate a tour. The local tour guides they hire provide a genuine feel for the city and its food culture.

Obviously, Jon is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the history of Denver’s downtown. Seems there were tons of bordellos and saloons in the old days!
