I had the good fortune to have Leonard of Desirable Portugal as my guide through Sintra, the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the day memorable. As my wife could not join us, we began with a walking work the town of Sintra. We explored back streets that larger tours could not access and kept ahead of the larger tours in the central parts of the town. We approached the Pena Palace through the park that surrounds it, always with great insights into the creation of the park and its natural beauty. Leonard’s insights into the history and creation of the palace were amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Ditto for the Moorish Castle. All in all a wonderful 6 hours in his company. He was hands down the best tour guide I have spent time with.

Our experience was absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful time and the tour was exactly what we were hoping for. We plan to book again when we are back in Portugal!

We went on a private day tour from Lisbon to Sintra with Leonel and followed his advise to take the less traveled path. It was a wonderful choice as we had a relaxed visit without crowds. Leonel has extensive knowledge of the area and we had a wonderful day. Highly recommend!

Leonel is incredibly knowledgeable about a wide range of information and insight into his beloved Portugal. He has a definite point of view about sustainable tourism and protecting what is special about his country. While we didn’t see the usual sights in Sintra, he brought us to some hidden gems and showed us a side of the town most visitors don’t see. Our drive along the coast with stops for special views was fabulous. A bonus was getting to ride in his electric VW Buzz. Smooth and quiet ride. I highly recommend Leonel, just a great guy and guide.
