Phenomenal experience, lodging, food and guide jersey was exceptional. Three days I found to be the perfect amount. Between walking and spending time at the lodge it gave enough time to really appreciate the canyon’s beauty. Would recommend!

The 3 Day Colca Canyon tour is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the deepest canyons worldwide and with Erik as our guide we had an amazing experience. Erik was super nice and knew a lot about the flora and fauna of the canyon as well as it’s history and the people living in and around it as he himself lives in a town at the beginning of the trek. If you have the chance to book with Erik I can highly recommend him! As for the trip, it was a challenging steep descend on the first day down into the canyon to arrive at a beautiful small village where Lunch and dinner as well as hot showers (during daylight so be fast) are provided. The accommodation here is simple but the private rooms are more than adequate and the view inside the canyon is stunning. The second day is an easy trek through the canyon where we visited local farmers. You arrive for lunch at the oasis where beautiful lodges with swimming pools!!! Provide the perfect place to rest and prepare for the ascend on day three. Day three is the most challenging with an early start at around 4 in the morning during the dark. The hike up the canyon takes anywhere between 2 and 3.5 hours depending on your fitness but is doable with the guides making sure everyone arrives safely at the top. There is also the option to book a mule to carry you up. After that breakfast is provided and a visit to the hot springs to relax your sore muscles (entry not included). I recommend you take enough cash with you to buy water, snacks and drinks along the way. The food was simple but tasty with vegetarian options available. The trek overall is a good mix between challenging and scenic parts and you feel proud of having finished it. The canyon is a unique place that is worth the visit. I strongly recommend you do the three day not the two day trek as it gives you more time to enjoy the landscape. Again I want to stress how nice Erik our Guide was and how it made the experience that much more enjoyable, book with him. Overall an amazing Trek!

Very good experience! Our guide Marcos was really great. He took the time to give us a lot of interesting information about the animals, plants, and life in the canyon. He was also very attentive and let us move at our own pace.
We did the 3-day trekking through the Colca Canyon with Peru Baby Lama. It was an amazing experience! The tour was very well organized and the canyon was incredibly beautiful. We also got to see the Condors from up close. Our guide Nohe was very knowlegdable and could tell us a lot about the plants that grow along the trail. On top of this all, the food was also very fresh and tastefull! I would highly recommend the 3-day trekking, as you hike the same trail as the 2-day trekking, the 3-day trekking is a bit more relaxed and you can actually enjoy some down time and swimming at Sangalle.
Nohe was such an awesome guide. This trek was so unique and different to other hikes I have done. I thought the canyon would be quite baron but it had such a rich life down the bottom and we were lucky enough to join in the festival on one of the days in the village. Could not recommend this trek enough. 3 days was the better time for this, it allowed you to fully enjoy the canyon without racing through it.

This was the highlight of my trip to Peru. Beautiful scenery away from the crowds. We also had a wonderful guide Eric.
