Our tour guide Roberto S. was the absolute best! He was so informative, knowledgeable and professional throughout the tour while making sure all tourists felt comfortable and safe. I had a medical emergency and Roberto S. went above and beyond. He immediately responded and drove to the ER, communicated back and forth with me and the other guests. He spoke with doctors and made sure I was taken in quickly, stayed with me the whole time, provided translation between the doctors and myself, helped me fill out paperwork and even went to get his own car to drive us back directly to our air b&b. He dedicated 5 hours of his own personal time to make sure I was okay during what was such a scary situation. He is truly a life-saver! A real blessing. People like him who go the extra mile are rare to come by! Highly recommend him as an exceptional tour guide!

An unforgettable Etna experience — genuinely 10/10 My family and I chose Etna People for our first-ever Mount Etna excursion, and it was one of the best experiences of our holiday. Communication from the beginning was incredibly fast, friendly and helpful. They even arranged to collect us directly from Hotel Antares at no extra charge, despite it not being their usual pickup point. Our first guide, Tony/Antonio, was fantastic: warm, funny and extremely knowledgeable about Mount Etna, Sicily and the local culture. The minivan was clean and comfortable, and our original group contained only eight people, making the experience feel friendly and personal. Etna People also provided hiking boots and windbreakers free of charge because we had explained beforehand that we lacked suitable equipment. Our own shoes were stored safely during the excursion. We stopped at an Etna winery for coffee, water and a toilet break before travelling to approximately 1,800 metres. From there, we joined our second guide and continued towards the summit area, reaching close to 3,000 metres. Unfortunately, ash, cloud and recent volcanic activity meant we could not reach the summit itself, but safety rightly came first. The scenery was still spectacular, and our guide explained the craters, landscape, plants and volcanic history in both English and Italian. We were given plenty of time to explore and take photographs without ever feeling rushed. Afterwards, Tony collected us and returned us to the winery for lunch. We expected only a small tasting, but the meal was generous, filling and delicious: local salami, mortadella, cheeses, olives, fried specialities, salad, bread and fresh traditional pasta. Wine was offered, while my sister and I received pure local grape juice instead because we do not drink alcohol. It was honestly some of the best grape juice I have ever tasted. We also finished with chocolate and amaretti biscuits. Our final stop was the Alcantara Gorges, where we had time to explore and enter the freezing but beautiful water. We had previously been warned by other companies about the steps, but we found them completely manageable—and far easier than the walk to Isola Bella! Tony allowed us to leave unnecessary belongings safely in the vehicle before dropping us directly back at our hotel afterwards. The entire excursion was extremely well organised, educational, generous and enjoyable. Both guides were excellent, but special thanks to Tony for making us feel so welcome and taking such good care of our family. We only wish the weather and volcanic conditions had allowed us to reach the summit, but this was completely outside the company’s control. Everything Etna People could control was handled brilliantly. A billion out of ten—we would recommend Etna People without hesitation.

What a fantastic day! We did the Etna, Wine and Alcantara full-day experience and honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. A huge part of what made the day so special was Toni. His knowledge of Etna is impressive, but even more than that, it’s his passion for the volcano, the area and the people who live there that really stays with you. He doesn’t just explain Etna — he makes you understand what it means to live beside it. By the end of the day, some of that passion and pride had definitely rubbed off on us! The whole experience was excellent, from exploring Etna to the wine tasting and lunch, and then the Alcantara Gorges. A really well-balanced and memorable day. Toni was also incredibly thoughtful throughout. It was a very hot day, and he would prepare the air conditioning in the car before we got back in, and always tried to make things as comfortable as possible for us, including avoiding unnecessary walking in the heat. Small details, but they say a lot about the level of care. Great company, great service, beautiful places and, above all, someone who genuinely loves what he does. One of the best days of our trip to Sicily. Highly, highly recommended. Grazie mille, Toni! We will remember this day — and Etna — for a long time!

A great experience Communication was easy & timely. Pick up from our hotel. Daniele, our guide was engaging, informative, knowledgeable & funny. Trip was well organised & very enjoyable with a small group. Boots & jackets provided. Mount Etna, fascinating. Lunch with wine, delicious The Gorge, interesting, but very crowded. Tip, bring swim shoes. Well worth it!

Had a great trip with Tony, who was very knowledgable and accomodating. Communication before the trip was wonderful. The company messages a few days before to let you know where and when you will be picked (quite near your hotel). We were given quite a bit of time on the volcano and the lunch was lovely. This excursion is a fun and convenient was to spend a day seeing Etna.

We had an exceptional day with Roberto who went above and beyond to provide insights about Etna, the region and Sicilian culture/life. He was so knowledgeable and clearly loves spending time on Etna so his passion really come through. The winery we went to (Emilio Sciacca) was also stunning and we had a really delicious lunch (still one of my favorite pasta alla normas of the trip!). None of the experience felt rushed and Roberto was doubling as a great photographer so we have awesome memories as well. Highly recommend booking this and definitely would request Roberto if you can!

From start to finish this was a brilliant day. Don’t be put off by 10 hours as it went so quickly. Our guide Toni was very knowledgeable on volcanoes, history, local flora and more. All with a great sense of humour which made him very easy to listen to. We really enjoyed the company of the other 4 people in our group too. To be near the top of mount Etna and see what effect it has had there in more recent history and the to visit the Gorge and see the result of much older volcanic activity was really interesting. I enjoyed a paddle in the gorge but luckily had shoes to wear in the water. Lunch was very good too. All in all perfect day.

Easy top high summit tour, 8 of us (they take a maximum of 16 - two minibuses). Didn’t take payment until the end of the tour, with our permission. Lunch was plentiful. Wouldn’t buy their wine though! Ricardo was very attentive and the mountain guide was excellent. I couldn’t always hear what Ricardo was saying sitting in the back of the minibus, but knew he was chatting about the land and volcanic history. Can you please supply your guides with a head mic. Also it would be helpful to announce the format of the day, and each time when we set off how long it’ll be to the next stop, and what that will be and for how long. Small point though…I would recommend this trip and this company (after much research!). Thank you Etna People 😀
