This was our first trip to Portugal and I reached out to our hotel Corpo Santo Lisbon for recommendation of a private tour company. Luckily for us they recommended FantasticRide. The online booking process was seamless and their website easy to navigate with a myriad of tour options, we opted for 2 half day tours , Sintra and Lisbon respectively. Our first day was supposed to be Sintra but our guide Filipe thoughtfully suggested flipping to Lisbon as the weather was cloudy and he didn’t want the weather to detract from our experience. Lisbon is a beautiful city and Filipe was the perfect guide. His knowledge as expected was extensive but it was the personal anecdotes and tidbits at each highlight that made the tour. We never felt rushed and Filipe made sure we even had time for coffee and the heavenly Pasteis de Belem after visiting Jeronimos Monastery - do not miss the opportunity! Sintra the next day was again amazing - Sintra, Peña Palace and surrounds are like stepping back in time and Filipe again regaled us with all the history we could ask for - again what you expect from a guide but it was more like traveling with an old friend. So much so that we asked him to do our transfer from Lisbon to Porto rather than taking the train . He is simply the best! If you are traveling to Portugal, look no further , book Fantastic Ride and ask for Filipe!!!
