Breathtaking views, attentive support, careful and kind drivers, delicious food, good accommodations, a rich program, and an incredible amount of emotions in just a couple of days. They answered all my questions and accompanied me from start to finish. I highly recommend it and am sure this is a must-see in Vietnam. With great gratitude and delight, my phone full of memories and a warm heart, I'm leaving.
Hello! Thank you for the 5-star rating. We're glad that the beauty of the loop and our service met your expectations. Creating great memories for our guests is why we do what we do. Hope to see you again in Vietnam!
Great experience! My driver Dat was lovely, would recommend doing the loop (even if you only have time for 2 days, we squeezed a lot in).
We truly appreciate you taking the time to write this. The ZGO family is thrilled that you felt well-cared for during the loop. We hope those mountain views stay with you for a long time!
Overall, this trip was a mixed experience. The organization was unfortunately quite poor, but I want to emphasize that our guides really tried their best to make the most out of the situation. We booked the self-driver tour with single rooms, so we were quite disappointed with how things turned out. The trip already started a bit strange: we were picked up by a sleeping bus at 8 PM. I honestly don’t understand why it has to be a sleeping bus for this route. The drivers were driving like crazy on the road to Ha Giang and you constantly get thrown around in the bus. Both the trip there and back were a terrible experience and definitely not relaxing. We arrived in Ha Giang around 2 AM in the middle of the night, and were told that there were no single rooms left, so everyone would have to sleep in a dorm. After a phone call with the agency we eventually got the last single room, but it had already been used and had not been cleaned. The next morning the tour started. Our guide gave me a short introduction to the motorcycle and then we began riding through the incredible mountain passes. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking and honestly made up for many of the bad experiences before. However, one downside of the self-driver option is the motorcycle. You only get a small 110cc bike with drum brakes, which is quite disappointing—especially because all the Easy Riders have larger and more powerful bikes. This makes you feel pressured to keep up with the group. At one stop I explained that the bike simply couldn’t go faster with two people and luggage, and that the brakes needed adjustment because they were very weak (drum brakes only). I also made clear that I wouldn’t ride at high speed over foggy and wet mountain passes. After that, the group was more considerate and the pace became more reasonable. Despite that, we still arrived before sunset at the second “hotel”. Unfortunately the same issue happened again: all single rooms were suddenly fully booked. Our guide tried to arrange something and eventually we were given a small single room in a metal shack above the driver area, without a private bathroom. The bathroom had to be shared with all the Easy Riders and by that time there was no hot water left. At that point we decided to leave the hostel and book a hotel in the same town at our own expense, which honestly turned out to be the best decision of the whole trip. What I really don’t understand is how single rooms can always be “fully booked”, even though our travel agent supposedly reserved them weeks in advance. Tip for future self-drivers: Book the dorm option for the tour and then organize your own hotel through Booking or Agoda for around 15–20€ per night. Also ask for a proper motorcycle at the start. And if possible, choose the 3- or 4-day version of the Ha Giang Loop, because riding 8+ hours per day on mountain passes can be quite exhausting for casual riders. Finally, I want to praise our Easy Rider guides, who really tried to make the best out of a poorly organized situation. On the second day there were maybe a few too many stops at viewpoints without much added value. It would have been nicer to include another activity like the Sky Pass viewpoint stop we had on the first day. Conclusion: The landscape of the Ha Giang Loop is absolutely stunning and worth seeing, but the organization of this particular tour was disappointing. Luckily, the guides did their best to make it a memorable experience despite the issues.
Dear Value customer Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and constructive review of your recent trip with us. We are thrilled to hear that the breathtaking landscapes of Ha Giang made a lasting impression on you and that our Easy Rider guides did their heartfelt best to support you throughout the journey. Your praise for their dedication has been proudly shared with the whole team. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the organizational issues you experienced regarding the single rooms. It is completely unacceptable that your reserved rooms were not ready upon arrival at the base and the second transit point. We have seriously reviewed our coordination with the local homestay partners to ensure that room allocations strictly match our bookings moving forward, preventing any future guests from facing this frustration. Regarding your feedback on the self-driver experience, we would like to provide some clarity for you and future travelers to ensure the right expectations are set: Motorcycle Options: Our standard self-driver package includes the reliable 110cc semi-automatic bikes, which are the most common and legally compliant vehicles for casual riders navigating these mountain passes. However, we always have larger or manual bikes available at the start of the tour upon request for a more powerful experience, and we appreciate your note on this. Self-Driver Responsibility & Insurance: As clarified in our pre-trip agreements, choosing the Self-Driver option means the rider assumes full responsibility for their own driving, vehicle handling, and personal safety on the road. For this reason, personal travel insurance is mandatory and must be arranged independently by the guest before departure. This is different from our Easy Rider option, where guests sit behind our professional local drivers, and full tour insurance is fully covered by our agency. Regarding your injury: We were deeply concerned to receive your message 3 days after the tour ended, stating that you discovered a bone fracture after returning home. Safety is our absolute priority. Based on our team's report and trip footage, your minor fall occurred at a normal, safe speed on a clear stretch of road. Since no injuries or severe pain were reported to our guides at that time or during the remainder of the trip, we were unaware that you required medical assistance. We truly hope you are recovering well and wish you a very speedy healing. Your suggestion about adding more active experiences like the Sky Pass and balancing the viewpoint stops is excellent, and our product team is already reworking the itinerary to make it more engaging. Thank you again for helping us improve. We wish you all the best in your future travels and a smooth recovery. Warm regards, Ricardo & The Zgo Ha Giang Team
Highly recommend! Super nice drivers I love all of them! However, besides a helmet there is no other protection so be aware of that.
Super organized with travel with great drivers and a wonderful group. An experience I will not forget.
Hallo Mustafa! Wir freuen uns sehr, dass dir das Abenteuer gefallen hat! Ein großes Dankeschön von unserem Fahrerteam und wir hoffen, dich bald wieder in Ha Giang zu sehen 💚
