Amazing guide, Kevin, saw animals that we would 100% not have seen without him. He was patient and gave us lots of interesting information about everything we got to witness. Such a fun evening for all of us thanks to Kevin!
We weren’t sure what to expect when it was raining right up until the time of the tour, but Kevin assured us it was worth going out. So glad we listened! Kevin was an amazing guide-great stories and super knowledgeable about the cloud forest. Barely a minute went by the whole time without some sort of amazing sighting-mom and baby sloth, howler monkey, family of wild pigs, viper snake, toucans and whole variety of interesting birds, tarantula, and the list goes on and on! He took fantastic photos for us too. Exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend!
We had an wonderful night walk with our lovely guide, named Clarissa. She had a lot of knowledge and could give us a lot of facts about the animals. She even searched for other animals within the same species to show us the differences etc. Her enthusiasm was amazing and she really has a heart for being in the nature. We were lucky, because we saw in front of our eyes an owl eating a mouse! Also the green emerald frog was a very awesome animal to see. We highly recommend the night tour! Guide was great. Learned a lot about the area and flora and fauna. I have a very slow walking pace and the guide was very accommodating.
Quite simply wow. Guided tour with Kevin who was exceptional. We were in a small group, unlike some other tours where there were twice the number, which would limit your opportunity to view via the scope. We saw countless animals that we simply would not have seen without his expertise including Sloth, owls, toucans, frogs, stick insects, coati and tarantula. Kevin clearly knew the park and was fantastic, on multiple occasions taking our group ahead and away from others, where he would find animals before they had been disturbed. Other tours we observed seemed overly reliant on piggybacking on other guide’s spots, which yes does have its place, at times for some animals but without Kevin’s skill we would not have seen tarantula as this would have been disturbed by larger groups.
Kevin is an expert guide who spots wildlife that seem impossible to spot, as well as lots of other interesting forest features. He also has an incredible amount of knowledge about the forest flora and fauna. We saw many amazing things, learned a lot, and left with stunning pictures. Monteverde area is absolutely beautiful. Kevin is also such a kind, patient, generous, and funny guy. He’s great to take these hikes with, and we really enjoyed our two guided walks with him. What an excellent, unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
This night tour was incredible. Kevin was AMAZING at spotting animals - he knew exactly where to look and find things and was so confident navigating where things would be. He is clearly well experienced and has a natural interest in the animals - we learned so much from him. He was brilliant with our two children as well. His scope was fantastic for seeing things close up and he used my phone to take some incredible photos that we can share at home and keep those memories of seeing the wildlife of Costa Rica alive. Kevin was invested in making sure we saw everything there was to see, seeking out harder to spot animals and our tour ended perfectly with the “cherry on top of the cake” as he put it with a sloth and rare animal who’s name I have forgotten (sorry Kevin!). Unlike other tours in the same area, ours was just us - many other groups were much larger and therefore less opportunity to see the animals through the scope and harder to manage more people. This is one of the reasons I would choose Kevin for a night tour. Coupled with his expert knowledge and experience of the reserve, you would never regret booking this tour! We have come away with a wonderful experience. Thank you so much Kevin! 🌟
We did the night tour in Spanish and we loved it. Our guide knew a lot about all the animals we saw and explained a ton of interesting facts to us in a very pleasant way. Also, he was very friendly, especially with our son, with whom he connected right away and made him enjoy the experience even more. We saw many animals and learned a lot. Without a doubt, a totally recommended tour.
