I had an excellent experience. Both of our guides, Eric and Jaime were incredibly friendly and helpful. Their camp once up the mountain was very clean and comfortable and offered great views of Fuego which were pretty awe-inspiring. I would definitely recommend this trip.

The hike was definitely challenging, but it was such a great experience! Our tour guide, Pablo, was very nice, patient, and encouraging. He let me take my time and never made me feel rushed, which I really appreciated because the hike was harder than I expected. He made the experience much more enjoyable. Definitely an adventure I’ll remember!

The hike was absolutely amazing. Would certainly recommend it for anyone who visits Antigua. Though it was fairly difficult, the views are one of a kind. The highlight of my experience, however, was our guide Carlos. 10/10!

It was an amazing experience. Jiron, our guide, was superb, the best guide we could desire. Our group was so funny (full of young students from Boston) and we enjoyed everything. I was scared about the altitude and the hiking but was enjoyable. Everyone can reach the top... I did, so everyone can. On the early morning time the view from the top of the volcan was wonderful... I suggest to do this tour! Don't miss it! And take with you the right shoes and clothes: it's very cold, especially in the night time!

Request Palo. This tour is best in the dry season. I went in the wet season and got stuck in a hail storm with lightning close by and was soaked. We dried out close by the fire. 10/10 would recommend.

Our experience hiking Acatenango with Rolando was amazing! Communication through WhatsApp was great from the beginning, and we ended up having a private tour since we were the only group booked. As a group of three women traveling on our own, experiences like this can sometimes feel a little scary, but Rolando was amazing and made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. Whenever one of us felt sick from the altitude or needed to take a break, he was incredibly patient and helpful. He also taught us so much about Guatemala and local life along the way, which made the experience feel so much more personal and special. We saw other tour groups hiking with huge numbers of people and struggling to stay together, which made us even more thankful for the experience we had. Everything felt personal and well taken care of. The food they packed for us was also really good, especially compared to what we saw some of the other groups eating! The hot chocolate and s’mores throughout the night were such a fun touch. We are so thankful to Rolando for making this such an incredible experience. Truly one of the highlights of our trip and something we will never forget. 100/10 recommend!!

Such an amazing experience. The agency did a great job of preparing and transporting everyone to and from the volcano. Our guide was Roberto and he did an amazing job of caring for the group as well as being informative along the way and was a great hang! The mountain was so beautiful and worth the effort to trek up there!

As a solo female traveler and regularly hiker, I can wholeheartedly recommend the hike with Experience GT. The organization was excellent, the accommodations were good (no tents, plenty of blankets), and the food was delicious—but our two guides, Vidalia and Jairo, were absolutely unbeatable. They looked after everyone in our —fortunately small— group (7 people) and turned this adventure and the incredible natural spectacle of Fuego into a truly unique experience! Thank you so much ❤️ If you have time to prepare: - do 60 squats a day for two months - start acclimatizing early once you arrive (or consider taking acetazolamide, starting the day before — provided there are no contraindications - bring a total of 4 liters of water (especially for the altitude) - try to pack light while still bringing enough changes of clothes: long underwear (merino, if you have it) - Rain poncho a/o rain jacket/ trousers - Know your limits — the climb to the summit is no walk in the park and can be very windy (and sometimes foggy) during the rainy season. But if you do it, enjoy every second!

This is a tough hike but it is doable and worth it! I went in the rainy season and I still enjoyed it. Prepare properly by doing some research and reaching out to the tour company. Very helpful guide.

This experience was nothing short of amazing! By itself the hike is something unique and choosing ExperienceGT was the best decision we could have made. They travel with a smaller group so the guides can take better care of you. I specially want to recommend Roberto and Vidalia, two individuals who are super experienced, have fun at what they are doing and bring the outmost patience. They took good care of us and did nothing wreck less, they read the weather conditions well so we had the best view on the Fuego hike and on the sunrise hike. If you book with this agency you can be sure you choose the best experience to do the best adventure of your life!
