Fantastic trip with a lot of insights it will take forever to get through books, internet, etc. we spent 2 days in Cosco dealing with the height sickness, but when we came to Macchu Picchu it was not a problem.

If you’re thinking of visiting Machu Picchu, I recommend Terra Quechua Peru for the excellent organization and service we received. It was one of the places we most wanted to see, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The guide explained the history of the sanctuary very clearly and took good care of us throughout the tour. He also gave us plenty of time to enjoy the site and take pictures. Everything was very well coordinated, which allowed us to enjoy our visit even more. It was undoubtedly one of the best moments of our trip to Peru.

An extraordinary site, to do if you can (health + finance), no need for a guide You have to book tickets a few months before, the same for the train (the most expensive in the world, they enjoy it, no road!! ) I paid 150€ round trip by train from Ollantaytambo (I did not want to sleep in Aguas Calientes) The Aguas Calientes bus in Machu Pichu is relatively well organized, queues are made according to your time of entry to the site Once you get to the site, the entrance is relatively fast, the queue you see as you get off the bus corresponds to people who want to get back to Aguas Calientes I had the chance to see the site under the sun (06 August 2026) Count at least two hours of visit (Path 2B)

Machu Picchu is unique and spectacular. It is a shame that getting there is not only a feat in terms of time, reservations, additional tickets... but the price from Cusco is also shamefully high. Bus + train from Cusco, bus ticket that takes you to the entrance + entrance ticket = too, too, too much. Furthermore, inside it is divided into various routes: so you cannot visit everything. I believe that certain world heritage sites should be made accessible and not privatized for purely economic purposes. Local guides and the Cusco - Machu - Cusco travel staff were all well-prepared and super kind. It is really a shame, however, to see that such a wonder is only used to make money.

It's a shame to have such restrictions on the paths you take through the complex, but I understand the need to do such things to preserve the site for future generations. That being said, I cannot say enough about how beautiful and memorable our trip to the site was. We were on an organized National Geographic tour, so we didn't encounter any unfortunate ticket issues or worry about having incredible guides who have complete knowledge of all the ins and outs of the site. We loved every minute of our visits (one in the afternoon and one in the morning) and found the whole experience to be astoundingly beautiful and moving. As always, plan to use bug spray and sunscreen in any of the Sacred Valley locations. As far as steps go, if you are in good health, there is no issue, but it can be tricky for those with mobility issues and they must take the steps slowly.

Wow!!! It is a bit complicated to get to the entrance of the site but it is extraordinary. Try to do this early in the morning. The mandatory bus ride from Aguas Calientes is picturesque. As for the visit, which lasts at least 2 hours and 30 minutes, it will remain well-placed in your memories. Above all, if you can, have a real camera (with a good telephoto lens), it will be a good mix with your phone.
