We booked this tour — which is classified as a deluxe 3-star Ha Long Bay. Upon arrival at the port we realized we had been downgraded, and put on another tour, a dirty, poorly maintained 2-star cruise on a different boat. The boat doesn't match website pictures and it’s cleanliness is unacceptable. We found the actual tour online: Cozy Bay. it's cheaper (40%) than what we paid. Our refund or compensation request was rejected. DO NOT book this tour.

First, you booked a 3-star cruise, and the photos you viewed included different categories of boats, which were clearly labeled on our website. The 5-star images are for reference only and are marked separately. Based on your booking, we arranged exactly the 3-star Cozy Bay cruise for you, which is the correct boat for your selected package. Anyone is welcome to check Cozy Bay’s reviews online to see its real quality and standard. We also immediately rechecked with the tour guide after receiving your complaint. He confirmed that he never stated the cruise was 2-star, so we are unclear why this was mentioned in your review. Regarding pricing, the public price you referenced is USD 122, while our selling price was USD 128. We do not understand how this was calculated as “40% cheaper,” as this is factually incorrect. We do acknowledge that in reality, the cruise may appear older than promotional photos, which can happen with 3-star category boats. However, we 100% guarantee that we delivered exactly the cruise you booked, with no downgrade. For this reason, a 100% refund is not feasible. I enjoyed the cruise but my review is about the incredible response and support from one of the staff. Upon returning to port I lost my suitcase. One of the employees named Viet provided an incredible level of support and service. Viet searched for my suitcase over three days including in his own time after I had left Ha Long. Viet kept me constantly updated with his search and enquires. Viet located my suitcase at another tour operators office and arranged for it to be delivered to Hanoi fully in tact with nothing missing. Viet went above and beyond his role and duties to help me through a time of absolute stress and anxiety. The feeling of receiving the news and a confirmation photo of my suitcase being located was overwhelming, I thought it was gone for good but Viet never gave up. What an amazing individual who should be sought after by the best tour companies to work for them. Thank you Viet, you’re a true legend.

It was a fantastic tour for us. Everything was great. A great crew on board, very nice cabins. We enjoyed the amazing view of Halong Bay. Not to mention the great food. Anyone in Vietnam/Hanoi should not miss this experience!

The whole trip was fantastic. Ha Long Bay is so beautiful. All the cruise members were very nice and helpful. We took a smaller cruise ship. Good food! With a smaller group, we all got along very well. Besides that we also had a great tour guide, Tran Duc Hung. He went above and beyond to help us with everything. His directions were very thorough. He is fluent in English, funny, and down to earth.

Helpful guide who picked us up from Hanoi on time. Really nice boat, good food and fun activities. Cabin had aircon and ensuite with a big window to see the bay.

Pick up from Hotel and the whole organization was great. The guide provided us interesting information about Hanoi and the various places we saw during our trip in Halong bay. The food on the cruise was excellent with various dishes to share. There are many activities (visiting the surprising cave, kayaking, seeing monkeys, a short walk to a point where you had a great view at Halong Bay, learning how to make Springrolls...), but still enough time to relax and take great pictures. During these (more or less) 24 hours on the ship, we had a very good time ! PS: take some warm clothes with you in january ;)

We had a really wonderful time! Tuan our guide was a lot of fun, catered to our needs and gave great tours. We had a perfect number of people (13) with enough time and space to gaze quietly out to the bay when we needed peace and quiet. The food was very good and the boat clean- although the boat looks a little old and isn't as luxurious as some of the other boats seen. Would definitely recommend!
