This was so much more than a food tour, and Ken is the reason why. I came to Penang to eat, but I left having learned about the culture, the history, and the stories that shape the food and the streets around it. He clearly knows Penang inside out and shared it all with so much enthusiasm and fun. What really stood out was how thoughtful he was. He came prepared with extra tissues before we even needed them, and he checked in at each stop to make sure the spice levels were right for us. He was extremely respectful the whole way through. Nothing was ever rushed. We had time to enjoy each dish, ask questions, and take in the atmosphere without feeling herded along to the next stop. It felt like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend rather than following a schedule. I left full, happy, and with a much deeper appreciation for Penang. If you're deciding whether to book, do it, and try to get Ken as your guide. Highly recommended!

I've heard that Penang is a foodie paradise, but I had no idea where to start. It seems like every alley as a Michelin Bib gourmand stall (it does), and some of the local eating hotspots are intimidating for a tourist. So I signed up for this tour, and I am so so glad I did. The tour site is very detailed about the tour, setting expectations really well. It is not vegetarian-friendly, there are small group sizes, and so on. I won't reiterate all of it, but it is very accurate information. The price was well worth the amount of food we had. With 15+ tastings, we waddled back to our hotel rooms to sleep off the food coma after. Each item and place is carefully curated. The dishes are extremely well made, with top notch ingredients, and supreme flavour. Our guide, Min, regaled us with stories about the food, the places, and more, which made the tour a genuinely engaging experience. Our tour lasted about 4 hours, because we were not rushed AT ALL. This was a novel experience, because more tours chivvy you along to fit in their given timeframe. Not here. There were several occasions where we needed to rest after inhaling food, and Min gave that to us. If I have one point of caution it is that it may not be suitable for senior citizens. My mother (75) struggled a bit with all the food, and the walking in between. Of course, your mileage may vary. I (42) had a fantastic time, and would definitely do the tour again in a different city. Even if you can find the places on your own, the tour is still a great experience. Highly highly recommended.

Great experience, the food was great, Ken explain lot of interesting information related with the food and shows us, the essence in the local food in Georgetown.

Highly recommend this food tour! We got to sample and taste many different food and flavours from Penang. The tour was a good pace and the servings were good! Ken is an amazing guide! He helped us understand the influence of culture and flavours in the dishes. Ken is very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly! We went to local spots, which made us feel like we were eating like the locals. Highly recommend Ken and doing this tour!

It is an experience that must be done, the sights and the smells of the food was something I will fondly remember and the stalls that were so busy with local people all eating was amazing.

We had a great time with Grace - as she said, eat, walk, repeat! We tried lots of different and delicious foods that we would never otherwise have tried, with 3 Michelin stops along the way. We also learned a lot about the people and culture of Georgetown. Excellent and highly recommended.
