Sandy our guide was brilliant. She was very knowledgeable about Penang culture and food. We particularly loved being taken to sample food from restaurants that had been run by family for many, many generations. They cooked from memory using family recipes. The ingredients were authentic, fresh and were without artificial flavours or colours. Delicious! We felt safe eating the food. We were shown how each of the tasting was created and sampled food from different Penang cultures. Special thanks to Sandy who helped us and stayed with us when ordering and waiting for a taxi back to our hotel at the end of the night.

We had such a wonderful experience on this food tour! Our guide was incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel very relaxed and enjoyable.
The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved getting to try so many different local dishes and flavours. It was a great way to discover the local food culture and learn more about the stories behind what we were eating.
Everything was very well organised, and we felt really well taken care of throughout the tour. A lovely and memorable experience that we would definitely recommend! Thank you so much! ❤️

Penang Plates Food Tour - Fantastic experience
This was a great food tour. Lots of food stalls and restaurants we may not have tried. All of the food was delicious. There was a great combo of street eats and restaurant meals.
There was A LOT of it too, so go on an empty stomach!
Grace, the guide, was wonderful. What an enthusiastic, energetic and friendly host - and very knowledgeable. Knowledgeable about food and Penang and its history.
Grace really made the tour a fabulous experience.
Thanks to Grace and all of the cooks, owners and chefs who provided delicious food and friendly service.
Highly recommend this tour.

Sandy was really nice and we got to eat so many types of food. I recommend pacing yourself because it’s a genuinely nice experience and you’d want to try all the different cuisines

Do yourself a HUGE favor- book it!!
Incredible experience! You will try many local dishes that are nothing short of amazing and that you most likely wouldn’t have tried otherwise on your own. We travel quite a bit and do food tours all over the world - this easily ranks in the top two. Our guide Sandy was beyond amazing. It was my husbands birthday and she made it so awesome - had him experience a traditional Chinese birthday, everyone sang to him and he got a piece of Duran (local fruit (yuck)) cake.
