"Rus" was a brilliant guide. He was really informative, food and general history of the area. As usual the food was great...left feeling very full! It was a nice small group so despite the traffic hussle and bustle we could hear him well. The markets had the most amazing, array of foods. All local people, no tourists so you get the "real" feel for Balinese wet/dry food shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
A good value and fantastic tour of the street food in Denpasar Bali. Our tour guide Rus met us at the agreed meeting point on time and was very friendly. He explained what the tour involved in great deal. We set out on a short walk to our first of many stops on the tour. We passed through the flower and produce markets in between food tasting. Rus Our guide explained in great detail the history of all our tastings. As well as the food history Rus was very informative on the history of Bali. When the tour came to an end, he walked us back to our meeting place and booked a taxi for us to and waited with us until we got into the taxi. All I can say is do not eat before you take this experience as you will not be hungry when you are finished.
This was a well rounded tour with a great guide. There was a range of yummy food and lots to look at. I found it quite busy and overwhelming with lots of noise but that was not the tour guides fault it was just the nature of the environment and my issue.
Pros: It was great to try the different foods and see more "off the beaten track" in Bali area. Cons: (not the guides fault) but it was super noisy to hear him explain things. Also getting back afterwards was a bit tricky/felt unsafe to call a GRAB. We walked up a bit to avoid mass congestion at the Market entrance to find an identifiable landmark where GRAB could find us. I probably wouldn't do this as a solo female, unless the tour started and finished at the meeting point as then you could safely wait their in an identifiable landmark to call a GRAB!
The guide was great, the food was good, but almost too much, so do not eat a big breakfast the same day.
The Bali Bites tour hits the spot once again! From delicious satay and incredible peanut noodles to whole slow-cooked chicken Betutu, crispy fried duck and an assortment of seriously delicious desserts, every stop was packed with amazing flavours. But what I love most about this tour is getting to experience the real local side of Bali. Every tour brings something new, and it never fails to amaze me. ❤️ Our guide, Bryce, was outstanding. His knowledge of each dish, the local food culture and the restaurants we visited really added to the experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and made the tour even more enjoyable. Another fantastic Bali Bites experience — highly recommended!
This food tour is a must-do when visiting Bali. In fact, I’m booking this tour again on my next visit. I ate some delicious dishes, learned a lot about Bali and some of its history and how it has influenced Bali cuisines, and the people who prepared the delicious dishes I tried. Food is included and the amount of food you get far exceeds the tour fee. You will definitely get more than your money’s worth with this tour as all the food is covered by the tour fee. Ras, my tour guide was great and one of the best tour guides I’ve had. He took the time to explain the dishes I was eating, and some of the history and background behind some of the dishes. At the en le of the tour you will get a dessert and will have an option of choosing two flavors, I highly recommend choosing the chocolate and cheese combination. I know, it sounds weird, but it works and it’s delicious! Trust me. You will leave more than full after this tour, so come hungry!
Fantastic introduction to balinese food and culture. I particularly loved the special dish chicken betutu and the pandan desserts. The places where the guide took us felt very friendly, some of the vendors were genuinely happy to have us. There’s a lot of food served, I’m glad I skipped lunch. I couldn’t recommend this tour more, thank you Ras!
We had an amazing afternoon. Many interesting food spots and stories from our lovely guide. Definitely one of the best activities you can do around Denpasar.
We had a little trouble finding the meeting spot due to construction but had plenty of time. Our guide was great and the food was excellent and safe to eat. We especially enjoyed the market at the end with unique and tasty items. I could not get over how Kind everyone was. Not just on the tour but everywhere in Bali. We can't wait to go back.
