Amazing!

At sunset is the only way to experience the view of Lady Liberty, so majestic! Recommend getting therev1 hr early to be able to get your spot on the boat. We sat on top on the left side, but really, it doesn't matter which side as the boat circles around several times. I took my daughter, this was a must see tour if you're coming to New York City!

First come, first served...

First come, first served if you want to be on open deck which wasn't apparent until we were there. Sat on the lower deck, with not very clear windows and seats not secured. No guide or even adequate supervision at times. It was nice to see the sights at sunset. On reflection and seeing what some of the other tours provided - it's great if you just want to sit and see a few things but shop around for what others are offering first.

Good value, but could...

Good value, but could have done without the music. Wished there had been a tour guide pointing out some of the buildings and giving us a bit of history

Good cruise and affordable

There is no commentary provided by the crew. No discussion of landmarks or points of interest. Contemporary music is payed continuously on bad speakers. That being said, it was a great evening. We had a wonderful sunset cruise and got beautiful pics of the Statue of Liberty and other sights.

Avoid if possible

This was one of the most chaotic experiences I’ve ever had on a boat tour. Seating was first come, first served, and although we arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, there was already a line stretching from the boat all the way to the street. There were easily 300 people ahead of us. Once onboard, it was difficult to see much of anything because of the limited seating. Many passengers were left standing throughout the boat, which obstructed the views for others. The most concerning part was disembarking. My daughter was nearly trampled as everyone rushed to get off the boat. The floors were wet, there was no organized process for unloading passengers, and there was only one narrow ramp for exiting. The ramp was only wide enough for two people at a time, but many guests ignored those instructions, and there were not enough staff members present to manage the crowd. At one point, the ramp began swaying and appeared as though it might tip. Two staff members holding the ramp had to yell at passengers to follow the directions they had previously given. It was an unsafe and stressful experience from start to finish. I would never recommend this tour to anyone.

I recommend it

It is a very beautiful and relaxing experience; my recommendation is to arrive a little early so you can be among the first to board and be able to sit in the open-air section where you will appreciate everything much better

If you're doing the Circle Line Statue of Liberty Sunset Cruise, here's my biggest piece of advice: get there at least an hour early. Yes, you'll probably be waiting. Yes, you'll likely be standing for a while (though there are a few benches nearby, and if you're with a group you can take turns sitting). But trust me, if you only arrive 30 minutes before departure, your chances of getting an upstairs outdoor seat are slim. Those spots fill up incredibly fast. An hour to an hour and a half early gives you a much better chance of getting a place on the top deck if that's what you're hoping for. A few things to know before you go: Umbrellas aren't allowed on board. I believe strollers need to be parked before boarding. Once the boat starts moving, you'll need to remain seated initially, but after that you're free to get up, walk around, switch seats if available, and visit the snack bar or bar (for those 21+). One thing I do want to mention: please don't smoke or vape on the boat. There were people doing both, and honestly, it was incredibly inconsiderate. There are children, families, and people who may have breathing conditions. It's only about a 90-minute cruise, your cigarette or vape can wait. When the boat stops near the Statue of Liberty, you'll have plenty of time to take photos. Just be mindful of the people around you. Everyone paid to be there, and everyone deserves the chance to capture those iconic shots without someone monopolizing the best viewing spots. Also, dress for the breeze. Even if it's hot on land, once the boat gets moving it can feel surprisingly cool on the water. If you're someone who gets chilly easily, bring a light sweater or jacket. The crew did a great job with safety announcements and the overall organization of the cruise. It was smooth, well-run, and genuinely one of the highlights of my trip. I had a phenomenal time, and I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting New York City.
