I had to wake up at 0100 for 0130 pickup. Waited at the pickup point starting at 0120 and was never picked up. Sent several texts to the tour operator without a response. Contacted Viator and finally quit at 0220. Because of the 0130 pickup, I had to change the day before and the day of the trip plans on my vacation. Absolutely terrible!

This was such a pleasant first time experience for me. Everything was exceptional! From the tour company services, communication, driver and trekking guides. They are patient, kind, attentive to everyone. Mount Batur Ultimate Trekking company lives up to their name!

Hike was incredible, we're moderately fit and found it quite doable. Enough time for multiple breaks on the way up to catch your breath. Highly recommended, we were lucky the clouds cleared for us for an incredible view. Our hiking guide was Putu and he was really great you'd be lucky to get him on the hike.Only downfall was that the driver was reckless, was raining and quite foggy with low visibility, he proceeded to speed and try over take two cars over a solid line in those conditions, I almost offered him a tip to drive slower.

I’m not a hiker and I definitely didn’t feel fit enough to complete this trek by half way. My tour guide Ketut however would not leave me behind, always stopping and reassuring or offering his hand to help me. His spirit and kindness really did give me the strength to continue. Once we arrived at the top he treated us with hot chocolate and banana sandwiches which really hit the spot. Then he helped guide us through the crowds to a more secluded spot and took the most memorable photos of my partner and I. Today was a day I’ll never forget and I could go on and on but point is ketut is the best! Would recommended him and this trek to everyone ❤️

Terrible experience. Our guide was in a big hurry right from the start. Felt very rushed and I am someone that works out 4-5 days a week religiously. Made it to the top and tour guide says we’re going to the crater now, another 25 minutes okay? I thought everyone was doing that and come to find out it was the hardest climb and descent possible. It was absolute torture and in fact I fell off the side of the mountain and grabbed onto grass to keep me from tumbling further. My husband and son had to literally pull me up and there was no offer of going a different way or easier way. Absolutely NO ONE that we saw on the climb to Mt Batur came down the way we did. Our driver told us we were the last people down, wonder why? Also had to reschedule bc my husband got sick at scuba and son got Bali belly so actually paid TWICE for this torture! My sons are both D1 college athletes and felt it was extremely difficult on the way down.

Great trip. I was taken good care off. The hike was a bit rough but we paused when needed. Beautifull view and if you cant make it downstairs there is car or motor.

The hike and early start to the day was well worth it, awesome views at the end. Was a good group of folks for the tour, driver Purna arrived on-time and was easy to get along with. Hiking guide Ketut was great, really engaged with the tour group and hiked at a pace that suited all on trip. Weather for the day was great, no clouds impeding view.

Our guide Putu was incredible. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The views from the routes we took were amazing. Highly recommend.

A superb adventure that starts very early in the morning but is definitely worth it! The sunrise is just incredible from up there! The team is super nice and the organization was perfect. I recommend !
