Beautiful Destination but Questionable Guidance
Glendalough is a gorgeous day trip and very worth seeing! It was a very doable amount of time to get there and a lovely area to look around in. Pickup was prompt, and we made good time out of the city. However, we found our guide was a bit annoying. He didn’t tell us much about the area but did spend a lot of time making sexist, racist, and homophobic jokes, ranting about various bad experiences he’s had with dogs, recounting his recent medical history, offering back rubs as prizes, sulking noisily any time anyone even whispered while he was talking, and complaining that people can’t take jokes anymore. But hey, at least it was also incredibly loud? We honestly would have been fine with just being driven there and back in silence. But if this sounds like something you would enjoy, it’s definitely an experience!

If you have time and nothing else to do.
It was ok, and the monastic village was interesting. It was a mile walk to see the upper lake. Long ride for not much to see. It was advertised as a tour of Wickliffe and Glendalough. The guide told us they were the same thing. Disappointing.

Very personable tour guide but it would have been nice to have more time at our stop at Glendalough!

Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the area. The hiking through the forest was very serene!

Love the activity, didn’t love Paddy
The activity of Glendalough and Wicklow was great, but the tour operator left a lot to be desired. First, the address they provide on Viator for the meeting point is wrong. Second, the bus didn’t have air conditioning. Third, our guide was awful. Unprofessional, clearly didn't want to be there and told us all as such multiple times.
