Carik made this trekking better than expected! We were excited to hike Mt Batur but also a bit reserved because we expected it to be a very popular and busy hike. Carik asked if we wanted to go to a quiet spot and that really made this hike one of the highlights of our Indonesia trip! We were the only ones there and had an amazing view on the mountains and of the sun rise. Above that, he took great pictures of us and provided us with a nice breakfast. Additionally, he is a very nice guy! Thanks Carik, for an amazing experience!

My girlfriend and I booked the Mt. Batur Sunrise Hike + Hotsprings. We had an amazing time. You have to wake up very early, but, if you don’t do that sort of thing often, a unique experience to be on top of the mountain, long before the sun begins to rise. Roughly an hour before the sun even becomes visible, the dawn colors emerging and changing as you look out over Mt. Abang, Agung, and Rinjani (in the distance) is an incredible experience. Most of the tours take you to a seating area to watch the sunrise from the closest side of Batur’s crater, but our guide Charik, brought us around to the other side. Going from hundreds of people on the busy side, to just a few on the other side of the crater to watch the moment the sun peaked up over the horizon. As we went back around the crater rim, he took us to the hot volcanic steam coming out of the crater rim. Essentially a sauna/steam room just coming out of the ground! Charik also took us up a smaller, single track trail through the forest, which was much better than some of the other more popular routes (going up we were basically alone). Charik is very kind, generous (gave us a cig with sunrise), and happy to explain about the area. We learned about the recent eruptions in the area, lake Batur’s volcanic activity, how that impacts the fish population, and much more. Very enriching experience, would recommend. Suksma Charik! We had such an incredible time. Book with Charik if you want an beautiful and genuine experience on Mt. Batur.

The views on top definetly makes waking up and the sometimes challenging hike definetly worth it, it was beautiful. My Guide Carik did a great job, brought me up to the mountain safe, paid attention to my needs and motivated me. We also had some pretty nice chats. I would do it again, just bring warm clothes, it's freezing at the top. Everything else (hiking pole, water, headlamp) is taken care of. Thank you for this experience!

The pickup service worked perfectly for us – punctual, friendly, and overall very reliable. During the ascent of the mountain, there were a few points that could still be improved. At the beginning, there were not enough hiking poles available, but these were obtained later. Unfortunately, there was also too little water available, which was not refilled afterwards. The guide set a fairly brisk pace so that we could reach the summit in time for sunrise. For our group with two adults and two children aged 10 and 14, it was somewhat strenuous at times. We also found the motocross taxis to be somewhat annoying. These bring other visitors up the mountain and drive very close to the hikers on the narrow paths. As a result, a lot of dust was kicked up every time, which we had to inhale while hiking. Once at the top, there were quite a few tourists, as at many popular places in Bali – however, we were prepared for that. The breakfast was very welcome after the ascent and the beautiful sunrise made up for a lot. A real highlight afterwards were the hot springs. Relaxing there after the hike was simply wonderful and definitely one of the best parts of the tour for us. We also enjoyed the visit to the coffee plantation. The facility was nice to look at and the included coffee and tea tasting was very nice. However, we felt the prices for the subsequent purchase of coffee or tea were significantly overpriced. Overall, a nice and varied tour with an impressive sunrise, relaxing hot springs, and a nice conclusion at the coffee plantation. From our perspective, the organization regarding water and equipment as well as the pace during the ascent could still be improved a bit. Nevertheless, we had a very nice day overall and can recommend the tour.

We did the sunrise hike with our 8 and 11 year old. They were by far the youngest we saw hiking that day but our guide, Don was fantastic and so patient. We made it up the mountain in under 2 hours and it was so worthwhile - amazing sunrise. Don sorted our breakfast and showed us how to get the best pictures and took us to quieter areas - he was great! Coming down was harder as it’s like sand so a bit tough but Don walked at our pace and was in no hurry. We would highly recommend Don

The trip left positive emotions, the guide (trunyanhill) helped throughout the route on Instagram, fed us, took photos, and suggested an separate scenic route to the volcano crater, special respect to him! You definitely have to go to the volcano!!!

The hike was great! Our guide Dul was amazing, he gave us interesting insights on the Mount Batur history and amazing picture spots. The track was a bit crowded, but it worth the effort. Private driver service was also very efficient
