Alan was very knowledgeable of the area. Very accommodating and pleasant to be around. He made an extra stop for us and was willing to take suggestions if there was somewhere else we wanted to stop

The Viator tour by Surfside Adventure Tours with guide Richard was wonderful. He picked us up at the cruise terminal and showed us the highlights of Victoria and the countryside around it. He is very knowledgeable, calm and accommodating. The Butchart Gardens are incredibly beautiful as are Victoria and the coast and countryside. Highly recommend this company and the tour.

We had a wonderful experience with Alan. He took us to the Gardens, took our photo and taught us all the tricks to avoid the crowds. Getting there early was impirtant. Then Alan customized a Hallmark movie filming locations tour where we got to see where some of our favorite movies are made. He took the the time to research and plan location stops. It was exceptional.

More than halfway through a one week Alaskan cruise from & to Seattle, we had nothing planned for Victoria BC on the last full day. Butchart Gardens is highly recommended, but the shore excursion from the cruise ship was very pricey--$239/person for a 3.5 hour tour on a large bus with fellow passengers, but only 90 minutes at the Gardens. We called Surfside Adventure Tours and were delighted to be able to book so close to our arrival. This VIP tour with four persons in an SUV or mini-bus was about $90/person less for over 4 hours with Alan, owner of the company, as our attentive, knowledgeable and funny guide. Picked up at the cruise terminal, got to our destination before the cruise crowd, with lots of extra time for photos, questions and yet relaxing, knowing that we were not just another tourist on an overcrowded excursion. Why would you not do it this way and get the VIP treatment?

Phil was an excellent guide. He showed up at the cruise terminal on time in a large, well-appointed van with large windows—perfect for sightseeing. He was knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely book again and recommend him highly!
