Nuno was the perfect guide to Algarve for my family. Pickup/Drop off directly from our hotel made it convenient. He provided much information during the drive and made us feel comfortable. He made lunch reservations for us. The Bengali Cave tour was the definite highlight! He had water buckets ready to clean our feet afterwards. So thoughtful and considerate during the entire tour. He provided recommendations for food/drink/shopping. Van Go Tourism is a great company and provides excellent service. They are highly recommended by me and I’d ask for Nuno!

This was a long but well worth it adventure! Vasco did an amazing job showing us all the sights and explaining Portuguese history. He recommended a great lunch spot. The boat ride to the caves was a definite highlight!!

Amazing day tailored to what we asked to do. We saw many of the iconic beaches in Algarve, swam at one for a couple of hours at my kids request, and learned much about the region during the day. It was a great trip.

What a fabulous day! (May 30, 2026) Susana picked us up at 7AM from our hotel in Lisbon, as planned. We had a full and long day planned. The trip was prepaid and itinerary arranged back in February. Our trip to Lagos took about 3 hours from Lisbon. Susana entertained and amazed us with stories of the local areas we passed and the Portuguese culture and its history in general. She pointed out the agricultural aspects of the area and the Muslim influences in the architecture. Our first stop in The Algarve was Albuteira where we walked the cobblestone streets exploring the town and passed through a tunnel to the Praia do Peneco beach area. Next, we drove a short distance to Carvoeiro for a fabulous lunch at Tapas da Vila--the codfish fritters were yum! After lunch, we walked a short distance to the water side and donned life vests for a 90 minute boat ride through the Bengali Caves. (Don't miss doing this!) Following the boats ride, we headed to Lago--a simply charming town. Our stop included a guided walking tour and a guided visit to the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade for dramatic views of the rock formations off shore. After a full day, it was time to drive the 3 hours back to our hotel. Susana continued to tell us stories and the history of her beloved country. She made us love it, too!

Hugo was amazing! We had the absolute best time. The beaches he took us to were amazing. He was so warm and welcoming. We sang the day away as we went from beach to beach. We had such a great day! Book him if you want to have a perfect day!

Nuno was exceptional He took care of every single detail and was very knowledgeable.

We had a great day with Nuno from Van GO Tourism visiting the Algarve; but it was much more than this. He gave us an excellent history of Portugal, the effect of the 1755 earthquake on the region; and an overview of the Algarve, Lisbon, and Portugal today. The Algarve coastline is breathtaking with its' cliffs, caves, rock formations, beaches and quaint towns. The people of the region are friendly and welcoming. This was a fun, educational and very worthwhile day experiencing the Algarve with an an extremely knowledgeable guide. Our transportation in an MB van was very comfortable and helped to make a long day more than enjoyable. This is a must do excursion when visiting Portugal and be sure to schedule with Nuno if possible.

A great private day trip giving us an intro into the Algarve. We were with Nuno as our guide. He was knowledgeable, personable and attentive. Suggested & arranged a wonderful water view lunch spot. The vehicle was a Mercedes that was in excellent condition & very comfortable. We visited Albufeira, Carvoeiro & the Benagil Caves, and Lagos for a walk & view of the breathtaking limestone cliffs. A splurge but worth it. We have a camera full of memories!

He proactively ensured that we had a comprehensive and memorable experience, offering us up-close views of the beautiful coastline and numerous great stops along the way.
