Had an amazing day touring the Algarve with Lawrence! We had so many questions not just about the Algarve but about Portugal in general. Lawrence filled in all the missing pieces and answered so many of our questions! With his easy going and enthusiastic personality, the day trip from Lisbon flew by so quickly! The ocean water was too rough to go on the planned boat ride to the Benagil Caves. Lawrence saved the day with getting us to lookout points to see the caves anyhow!! He also added the town of Lagos that we would have never seen! Meridan4people has been the best company to work with from planning our day trips in Portugal to payment to excellent communication to our incredible experience! We had an issue on our end and we ended up in Setubal. Alfredo drove from Lisbon and picked us up there. He was very gracious and considerate. Very knowledgeable about the area made the trip very enjoyable. That day was my wife’s birthday and I asked him for a favor. He was on it right away. , When he dropped us off at our Airbnb Diana and another gentleman were there with flowers and a gluten free cake for her birthday. It was a very nice surprise 😊Thank you all for being so kind and considerate! Was a wonderful experience!

We are giving this tour 1 star—and only because of two positives: 1. The optional boat ride through the caves was stunning and a highlight. 2. Our driver, Inês, was punctual, kind, and handled a difficult situation with professionalism and care. The tour experience was extremely disappointing and completely misrepresented. According to the description, we were supposed to visit: Algar Seco, Boneca Cave, Benagil Cave, Praia da Marinha, Praia Dona Ana, the historic town of Lagos. Instead, all we did was the boat tour, which we could have booked ourselves, and then followed the boat captain’s lunch recommendation. That was it. No other stops, no guided itinerary, and no visits to any of the promised beaches or landmarks. This was also the driver’s first time doing the tour, and she had not been given any instructions. As we left Lisbon, she had to call the office to ask where to go and what the day’s plan was. She was simply told, “It’s a private tour—just do whatever the guests want.” We were never informed that we’d need to plan the day ourselves. This was not a curated experience—it was a self-guided day with a driver, and not at all what was advertised. Had we known this, we could have saved money by hiring a private driver and booking the boat directly. The operator should issue a partial refund for false advertising.

Your tour followed the planned itinerary as advertised: you began your day with a visit to Algar Seco and the Boneca Cave, where your group enjoyed breakfast while taking in the views. From there, you continued along the scenic route, passing Três Castelos, before arriving in Portimão to board the 2-hour boat cruise that included a visit to the stunning Benagil Caves—which you kindly acknowledged as a highlight. After the cruise, the group chose to have lunch at a restaurant recommended by the boat captain for its affordability. Earlier that same morning, your party had informed the guide that you had a dinner reservation in Lisbon at 6:30 PM, which made it unfeasible to continue with the full itinerary, which under normal conditions runs until 8:00 PM and includes additional stops like Praia da Marinha, Dona Ana, and the historic town of Lagos. This private experience is designed to be flexible and customizable, allowing guests to adjust the day to their preferences and time constraints. It’s important to note that the decision to return early to Lisbon was made by your group, and not due to any failure on our part. Regarding the moment our guide reached out to the office—it was simply to verify with our team whether your group had requested a different version of the itinerary, as you seemed to expect a variation from the standard route. We take great pride in the work our team does, and we stand by the integrity of the service provided. Since the itinerary was respected and the guide and vehicle remained fully at your disposal, we regret to inform you that we cannot issue a refund in this case. We do, however, value your feedback and truly wish the day had ended on a more positive note. Thank you for highlighting Inês’ professionalism—she is indeed a valued member of our team. Ricardo was our tour guide for the day. It was a private tour, my husband and myself. Ricardo was extremely accommodating and kind. It was a great conversation and provided points of interest along the way. When we arrived at the caves, the excursion was magnificent Ricardo met all of our needs plus more he was very attentive as to ensure we were enjoying our experience. I would definitely recommend this excursion and highly recommend Ricardo as your tour guide!

Wonderful guide who gave us an amazing tour of the Algave coast from Lisboa. Josef driving was impeccable and he catered the stops to our interests. He coordinated a boat tour and even made a restaurant reservation. We have had many guides over the years and Josef is at the very top of the list.

I booked this private day trip to see the infamous Algarve and I was blown away by the beauty of the place! Jose, my tour guide in shiny armor was an absolute gentleman. He was very attentive to my needs, engaging, and supper flexible with my requests once we got to the location. He was proactive in searching for the best options available for restaurants and activities. He secured a last-minute coastal boat trip, which made my experience so memorable and fun. Our group of friends booked this experience to get an overview of the Algarve area. We had the best time with our guide, Ricardo! We had an idea of what we wanted to see and he helped to map out the plan, choose restaurants on the way, got us everywhere we needed on time, and was just nice to be around. We definitely recommend this service if you want a custom experience and plan to use them again. Beyond the day itself being great, communication with Meridian4people group was excellent both through email and WhatsApp.
