Eda and Edina were amazing hosts. The class took place in an actual Bosnian home and was super homey and cozy. The food was DELICIOUS, I had never made anything like burek before and it was super cool to see the traditional way to make filo (phyllo?) Highly recommend for those who want a little local Bosnian culture on their trip
The Bosnian Cuisine Cooking Class with Almedin and Ahmed was a lot of fun and I learned a lot, not only about cooking the foods, but also some of the culture and history behind them. We began at the market shopping fo the ingredients, then we got to work, making the dough, chopping the ingredients and all the prep work. In the end we made Burek, Klepe/Bosnian ravioli, a cucumber salad, and Sutlija/rice pudding. Once everything was ready we had a feast together and enjoyed some good conversation. Afterwards, Almedin emailed me all the recipes, so I didn’t even have to take notes. I even walked away with a Bosnian cooking diploma. Now I’m official. Great experience.
"Now I'm official" is exactly the energy that diploma is supposed to give you, glad it worked. The market run at the start is my favorite part to teach, honestly — once you've picked the ingredients yourself, the cooking part just makes more sense.
