Javier was our guide. He was very talkative, energetic, and passionate about the areas on the tour. This was a bilingual tour with Javier switching back and forth between Spanish and English. This was not a small tour but filled with a regular bus-size load of people. You have to be close to Javier to hear what he is saying. So we were not issued hearing devices to hear him better. I was on a tour which had such devices which had made a world of difference. With such a device, you can pause to take a picture and still not miss a what the guide says. There is lots of walking. I enjoyed this tour and would recommend it.
Time for Gaztelugatxe was short, much better to skip Mundaka and add that time to be able enjoy more Gaztelugatxe. We were in hurry to make return path.
Tourguide Wallace showed us around. He told us some interesting stories and anecdotes about the different places. He is from the region and was very authentic and fun, very pleasant guy. Bus driver André took us safely to all places. I would definitely recommend the tour, even if you’re only staying a few days in Bilbao.
Excellent experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job showing us around each spot. The hike/stairs is a bit intense but definitely worth it.
We went on the excursion with Pedro. An exceptional guide. Super friendly and attentive. The guided tour was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. It is a very complete and beautiful excursion. Bring a hat and good footwear.
Wonderful experience, mind you, you have to be in shape to do the full tour of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.
The trip was awesome and our Guide, Aman, was out of this world. He was exceptionally engaging and made us all feel like a family.

The walk to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is far far more strenuous than the guides will have you know, it's 2.5 miles and very steep especially on the return leg. The achievement is worth it, but think carefully before you commit. Wear sturdy footwear, take water, and don't hang about. 2hrs is only just enough to do the round walk. The coach trip offers great views of the Basque countryside.
Unique and evocative experience, interesting to complete with a visit to the other small villages. I only recommend this to those who are in shape or used to physical exertion; we were satisfied, but definitely exhausted from the effort. Choose to book this excursion when it is not particularly hot.
