It could be a nice day trip if they stick to the plan. Every stop was shorter than in the initerary: Gaztelugatxe 2 hours instead of 3, Bermeo 45 min instead of 1 hour, Mundaka 2 hours insteaf of 4! (that's where we should have lunch, so no time to explore the town anymore), Gernika 1 hour instead of 1,5 hours. There was no time to really relax and enjoy it, and nobody asked if we wanted a shorter trip. Deliver what you promise in the initerary! Also it was not quite clear that the tour is in both Spanish and English.

This was a great way to see "all the things". There were over 30 people on the tour, so asking questions wasn't possible along the trip, although there was time to ask on the bus ride back to Bilbao. The tour was listed as being in English, but it was actually in both Spanish and English, which the guide, Stefan, managed brilliantly. It just took longer to explain things twice. It was a very efficient day getting to see and generally learn, but not experience, about each place. It served our needs well with our limited time in the area. Finishing off the tour at a Txakoli winery was perfect, too!

I thought this was an English Speaking only tour but the guide spoke almost everything in both Spanish & English,thus taking more time to explain things. He also walked very fast and left some of the group pretty far back. Of all the Viator tours we have taken over the years, this was unfortunately one of the less then Stellar ones but the monuments/places we toured were indeed beautiful.

This was a very physically challenging day trip, 25,000 steps and 60 floors. Be prepared. Our guide Stephan is Great. The scenery and experiences are wonderful. It was well worth it.

Tour from Bilbao; Gaztelugatxe, Bermeo, Mundaka and Gernika with Txakoli. We did this tour on Sunday the 6th of September. The guide, Wallace, seemed like a lovely guy but unfortunately his guiding was not good. Most of the little information we were given was in Spanish with a quick version in English almost as an afterthought - despite it being advertised as English only when we booked. We started in Bermeo with a quick walk to the port, heard a confusing talk about the local waves and then had half an hour for breakfast. Then on to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe where we queued for 20 minutes to use the one stinking bathroom at the entrance, after our guide brought us past the clean bathrooms as we got off the bus. We realised that there wouldn’t be time to climb the 241 steps to the hermitage in the 1 hour we were given, and so went back to the meeting point. There was then a 40 minute delay while we waited for the people who had gone up the steps only to find that the hermitage was closed. We then went on to Mundaka where we had only an hour to eat and swim. We saw nothing of the supposed “stand out gastronomy” as we only had time to find one crowded bar for a mediocre snack. The guide was 15 minutes late back to the meeting point so most of us made our own way back to the bus. We then went on to Gernika. The guide got off the bus first and raced off, leaving us having to try to catch up. We saw the tiled mural of Picasso’s painting but heard nothing of the history of the area. We saw no air raid shelters or the legendary tree. We definitely heard no fascinating anecdotes about the town. We also weren’t told in advance that the bus would pick us up again in a different location from where it dropped us. Then we went to the winery which was a complete let down. While on the bus we were told virtually nothing about the area. All in all it was a huge disappointment. Could be a great trip with the right guide but would not recommend it with this guide.

We went on this tour the other day, which cost us 75€ per person, and honestly, we did not like the experience. The tour is conducted by a single guide, who explains everything in both Spanish and English. The problem is that, throughout the entire tour, we had the feeling that much more priority was given to the English-speaking group. Every time we arrived at a destination, the guide would first give the entire explanation in English for them and then explain it again in Spanish for us. Therefore, we always ended up being the last ones to start visiting each place. This also happened at the winery: he first explained the whole history to the English group and then to us, so when we finally arrived, the other group was already talking and making noise, and it was difficult to hear the explanation. Furthermore, the pace of the tour seemed too fast to us, and there was barely any time to enjoy the towns or visit them on our own. It also became quite tedious having to wait continuously for the explanation in English to finish in order to receive ours. I think that, for the price of the tour, it should be better organized and designed for the Spanish public as well, trying to ensure that both groups have an equally good experience and making better use of the time at each destination.

The highlight is most definitely the trek up to the dragons lair from games of Thrones got the heart working

The guide, Miguel, and Guazza, the driver, were a 10. Excellent professionalism and kindness. Recommended.

It was very good, but also very exhausting; the pace while walking was very fast
