Interesting and educational bridge. I haven't seen a bridge like it! It's still operational and it's possible to climb it for 12 Euro each. Unfortunately my family was too scared so I missed out but it looked really fun. I believe it's a Unesco site. There isn't much else to do in Getxo, so I suggest seeking out the bridge should you ever find yourself here.

Visited the bridge. Made the crossing with the car in the gondola. Less than € 5 car with 4 passengers. Nice to experience. Road to it not very clear.

An impressive and historic suspension bridge from 1893 (the transport bridge is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.) it is still in use you can walk over the upper walkway and back with the suspended platform

As an engineer I just had to visit this bridge whilst I was in Bilbao and I was not disappointed. It took us approx 25 minutes from our hotel on the underground and when we came out of the station and walked up to the high street you could see the huge red bridge towering above the buildings at the end of the street. When we got the the river bank the size of this bridge became apparent, this 160 meter iron structure is the worlds oldest iron structure and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And with a gondola suspended below it as to transport vehicles and passenger across the river 24hrs a day it is definitely a feet of engineering. There is also plenty of cafes and river walks to keep the rest of the family occupied and it costs less than 1 euro using the Birak card to travel across on the gondola per person

Absolutely incredible view! 45 m above the river. A little scary but well worth the "effort". Incredible building construction. The gondola was also amazing.

Fantastic visit for the whole family. My son loves the suspension bridge, especially learning how it works, he learns a lot and we enjoy seeing how he is interested in engineering works near our house. My son has a bomb, he wants to cross the bridge just to see it working.

Very interesting and historic bridge (read Wikipedia about it) in a beautiful setting. You can sit and watch the hanging car go back and forth, avoiding any passing ships.

Tour guide (Josh) was excellent and really informative. Thoroughly enjoyed this trip, would highly recommend it.

Everything was as expected from an organisational perspective: we were picked-up on time and driven to the different sights in a confortable minivan according to the schedule. The group was pretty small which was nice to socialise a bit on the way and meant there was no time wasting as managing everyone was easy for the guide. The guide was friendly, spoke good English, and gave us good background information about the various sights. We were overall very satisfied with the tour as we had limited time in Bilbao and it allowed us to get an overview of many sights in the surrounding areas. Lastly, do note that it is somewhat of an express tour with limited time at each location. This was neither a surprise nor an issue to us as the tour schedule was clear and accurate, and seeing those places within a limited timeframe is what we were looking for. Just pointing out you should review the schedule and make sure the timing suits you before booking.

This is such a fascinating, unusual bridge. You can pay €10 for the loft to take you across or pay €3 for the ‘ferry’. We did the latter. It was really interesting and there are nice paths to walk along the riverfront.
