It’s great when you have a guide that knows all the ins and outs and facts about the area your touring. It’s even better when they love what they are doing. Paola made the experience so much more memorable with her enthusiasm and passion during the tour.
Shannon was wonderful! She brought the history and beauty alive. The private evening tour got to see areas not available during the day like the crypt floor. The lighting at night brightens the gold and mosaics. The tour was leisurely and Shannon was able to answer all our questions and also tell us about her own Venetian experience.
Ottavia/Otti gave the most amazing tour! She is brilliant, extremely knowledgeable, and also very pleasant to be with. My husband and I have been on many tours, and she is one of the best guides we have had. There is no other way to have this experience, the private tour at evening is the only manageable and enjoyable way to see this most incredible piece of history. You will have a spiritual experience

We had a wonderful tour with Romy. She was very knowledgeable. The small size of the group was perfect for touring the basilica.
Romy provided an extraordinary experience leading us on an after hours tour of the Basilica St. Marco. An art historian and native Venetian Romy graciously presented us with the political and religious history of the area and brought the basilica’s mosaics alive with her detailed explanations. All with charm. I was a bit skeptical that this tour would really be private, but my friend and I were But a handful of people in the Basilica and we were able to access areas normally closed during public hours. Although this is somewhat costly I don’t hesitate to recommend the experience with Romy as you guide. As my friend said to me…when will you ever have this opportunity again?
