Go early. Gets very crowded. Very hot. Not sure what happened, be we never went underground to the area floor as we thought we were.
This tour was great, and our guide was fantastic. I learned so much about not just the Colosseum, but the history of Rome, and all those associated with the arena - the emperors, the slaves, the spectators, the animals, and of course the gladiators.
This tour was excellent. It encompassed a great deal but our guide was knowledgeable and patient. Even when it started to rain a little, he kept us on track. I would caution that there is a lot of walking and steep steps. But our group did well.
Absolutely fantastic tour thanks to our guide Francesco Macioci. He spoke clear English, and had such a wealth of knowledge of Roman history, architecture, and small details throughout our entire tour. If I were to take more tours in Rome, I would want him to be our guide! He also offered and took the time at several key photo locations to take as many photos of each person or family in our group, which is common among many guides. We could’ve easily spent seven or eight hours with him learning all about the sites around the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman forum. Fantastic tour and so thankful that we booked it!
A true disappointment. A complete scam. We had no option during the tour purchase to include our two-year-old daughter unless we considered her an adult; the issue was making us pay for three tickets instead of two. When we arrived on the day of the tour, neither "Enjoy Rome" nor "tiqets" showed up or provided any solution. Making money by any means necessary. Terrible and regrettable. I recommend looking for other agencies.
This included everything we could ask for regarding the Colosseum – we saw Palatine Hill, the Roman forum (which was actually the most exciting aspect for us), and the Colosseum, which included arena access. We had a headset so we were able to hear the tour guide well, and she was very informative throughout. She also stopped plenty of time so that we could refill water bottles at the many fountains. The arena access led to some amazing photos, and we finished the tour there where we could spend as much time as we wanted inside.

We learned a lot and the tour guide was well versed in the topic. It was a bit of a longer tour than we realized so be prepared to walk, bring water and snacks if you need!
It was a really good guide. He was very enthusiastic and a really good narrator, with good anecdotes and he could relate much of the story to contemporary conditions.
